What Size Dowco Ultralite Plus Cover for GIVI'd FZ6

Sorry if I misled you. I have my bike on my centerstand and wanted to have the cover come all the way to the ground both in the front and in the back since it snows here in Boston and I don't have a garage. the XXL from Nelson Rigg does not reach the ground. I wish it was a tad bigger. The DOWCO...

    Warmer jacket: Textile or Leather?

Tourmaster textile with liner. As long as I wear a tutleneck it is good down to 25F. Agree with above comments. Textile warmer than leather (even with liner). Also, windproof liner makes a huge difference. The Tourmaster comes with two liners, windprrof/waterproof and one thermal. Most textile...

    FZ1 go bye bye?

I don't know exact numbers, but typically in the US the supersports are more popular. the reason is most people here buy bikes for fun and not for commuting purposes. The FZ6 has been somewhat successful from what you see on this forum, but I think it will have internal competition from the...

    FZ1 go bye bye?

I heard that too...this coming year would be the last for the FZ6. This was not from a reliable source. As for the FZ1, I think it may stay around since it is the only other 1k bike in the US lineup. I am speculating. Personally, from all the reviews of the FZ1, especially the latest ones, the...

What do you guys think of....

Than in that case you may be OK with it. I would check it with a mechanic. Sometimes it is worth looking for a while, especially if you already own a bike and don't need one urgently. Personal decision obviously. lucky you can ride year long...I can't. 8-(

    New Kawi Street fighter

Great looking bike and got awesome reviews and sales in the UK. motorcyclenews.com has a nice comparison video to the SV650 and the Ducati 696. It wins against them both. Yeah, it is a 2 cylinder, but they made them smoother for '09 with more engine vibration damping. Also, 2 cylinders means...

Work. How is it where you're at?

Deliver babies here. People still getting pregnant and still having kids, so I am OK for now.

    How's everyone's weight loss going?

Kudos to all who are trying. This is a "growing" problem for all of us with our lifestyles. It is winter in Boston, snowy, icy and I feel like doing nothing but going back to my warm home, eating, desserting, drinking tea with something, etc...No gym in a long long time...Anyway, hoping to...

    Lowering my FZ6

I second Steve's copmment. The lowered seat (3cm lower) did make a difference. I think what will make the most difference is just riding the bike. You will get used to the fact it is bigger. I came from a Ninja 500 and this bike felt huge in comparison (I am 5'8" with 30" inseam). I can flat...

What Size Dowco Ultralite Plus Cover for GIVI'd FZ6

I have the E52 tail trunk and have no garage. I bought the Nelson Rigg largest model. Definitely don't buy large! Even XXL maybe on the smaller side. I also have a PUIG racing screen so between the two even my XXL size Nelson Rigg doesn't quite cover all the way to the ground.

    Yamaha Fazer 250 ......

I think this bike could have done very well here considering how successful the Ninja 250 is. Of course, US preference is the half faired version.

First ride: The return of the Yamaha XJ6 Diversion (FZ6R)

I sat on it at the NY motorcycle show this weekend. It is a nice beginner bike. It feels narrower than the FZ6 and with a lower height - definitely a plus for shorter people, women and beginner riders. I think the FZ6 could probably still be sold since the numbers are not bad - I bet they sell...

    New Givi v46 case

very nice! I think the Yamaha OEM is a V46. It looks a little narrower and deeper than my E52. The topcase is a very useful device for commuting. I don't know how I lived without it!

    Therapy

Rub it in! I went to the motorcycle show in NYC today and had to sit on an FZ6 bike to be reminded of what it is like compared to the other bikes...sad it is. My bike is under a cover outside with a ton of ice and snow next to it. 8-(

Welcome! Great choice in bike and color (colour). My sister and husband live in Melbourne. Great riding weather. 8-) Boston sucks! Haven't ridden in almost a month now and feeling it! 8-(

What do you guys think of....

Bike is known for excellent torquie motor - you should feel a huge difference compared to the FZ6. But, as others mentioned, they are on the heavy side and not the best cornering bikes. 65k miles is too much. Look for a newer model with less miles. I bet price would be similar. They were not...

    how fast???

At 75mph I can barely feel the E52 and it packs a ton! I go food shopping with it regularly and am always amazed how much more I can fit int it than cramming into my back pack. It will be enough for a long weekend. As for high highway speeds, side cases are probably better for that. I use my...

    Which gloves??

Held gloves are probably better, but are fairly expnsive. Between the two mentioned brands, Alpinestar has a better reputation and has been around longer. I'd go with the Stella SP-2 gloves (if I was a woman).

    Triumph vs Yamaha

After two years on almost any bike, I would consider something else just for the sake of trying something else. If you are OK with riding a naked bike with no wind protection than I would go with the street triple. It is probably the best in its class. Also, by the poll I take it you like its...
