I am going to get drunk (RIP Vlad)

Re: I am going to be drunk Sorry for the loss of your buddy. Have a drink to honor your buddy, but just remember you'll never find the solution to your problem at the bottom of a bottle.

    police lay charges following video

Whether the charges stick or not, that guy is a moron and he makes all of us look like idiots. Hopefully he grows up before it's too late.

    Something I've noticed (accidents fz6 vs fz6r)

Going strictly from my observations, I think the disparity in reported accidents between the FZ6 and FZ6R comes down to the age of the rider and relative riding experience. Both bikes cost nearly the same when purchased new. While de-tuned for better low and mid range, the FZ6R is fully...

    Dating a Girl Biker.

Downside to dating a female biker is the lack of a back seat after "dinner and a movie".:D

    Friends Versys stolen yesterday!

Glad you buddy has insurance and will get a different bike out of the deal. Sadly, the insurance company will cut him a check for the depreciated value of his bike minus his deductible amount. Unless he kicks in some money from his end, the amount of the check very likely won't buy him a...

Yamaha's Oakley for test ride promotion?

Has anybody else received the Yamaha promotional card that promises a pair of Oakley sunglasses in exchange for test riding a new Yamaha bike? I've been wanting to test a new FZ1 to determine if I want to stick with the inline 4 format, or switch to a V4 like the Aprilia Tuono V4R. A free...

    Who has the blue headlight.

I ran a Silverstar Ultra H7 on the low beam side from September 2008 until around August 2010. It lasted for about 8,000 miles if I remember correctly. I reinstalled the stock Philips H7 that came in the bike and it's still running. Not sure what I'll replace it with when it pops.

Motorcycle Advice from a Harley Rider

This video is so true! I actually had a real motorcycle rider tell me that I should be riding a Harley Davidson instead of my Yamaha. I politely told him that I would ride an inferior piece of 1940's technology that is heavy, slow and highly overpriced when he goes to the Harley dealer...

Who says the FZ6 can't hang with ss bikes??

I've run my 2008 FZ6 against a buddies 2009 ZX6R numerous times on the 1/8 mile drag strip at our local airport. The FZ6 seems like it's geared a bit lower than the ZX6R which works great for the 1/8 mile track. Even with a poor launch, I can beat the ZX6R at the 60 foot mark, the 330...

Should I buy this 2007.5 Aprilla Tuono?

I'd go for it if I didn't want the V4 version so bad.

    1996 Ninja EX250

Sounds like a fun project! My dad and I brought back a 1974 Honda CL200 that sat dormant in my grandpa's garage for 20 years. It took lots of work, but it was a rewarding project.

Purging Coolant like crazy and white exhaust.

Burning coolant will discharge a white colored smoke and will have a sweet smell to the exhaust. Sounds like you have a blown head gasket, or a cracked/ warped cylinder head. The part where you said there were bubbles in the coolant reservoir certainly sounds like you're leaking exhaust...

Glove sizing, better too big or too tight??

I prefer a glove that starts out just a little snug. During it's use, the glove material will relax a bit, "fit like a glove"... pardon the pun. A loose glove runs you the risk of coming off in a crash, although too tight and you can restrict your movement and circulation.

Motorcyclist clocked at 193mph in the rain

Spike strips are not allowed against motorcycles. Using them is considered deadly force.

    FZ electrical power output (measured)

Quoted for truth! 900 rpms is too low to provide adequate lubrication and cooling from the oil and coolant pumps. Bump your idle rpms to 1,200-1,300 and you should notice reduced engine temps due to better circulation of coolant and oil. Also, the engine will be spinning the charging...

Police clocking the FZ6? Is it harder?

Motorcycles in general are more difficult to get on radar than normal vehicles are. The frontal target area is much smaller, which reduces the radars effectiveness in getting a good return signal. That said, radar is still an effective tool in determining a bikes speed. The only time...

    The zombie apocalypse is on!

Wow... this might be the beginning of the end. BTW, everyone knows you must shoot a zombie in the head to disable it.
