Changing Fork Innards on an SV650

No seals yet, from the looks of the dust caps, later this summer.... the axle was a 12MM. The SV needs to swap the rear shock for a GSXR one she picked up, chain and sprockets this summer, oil change, plugs, air filter, front tire, a good wash, and re-upholstering the drivers seat.

    Saddlebags

I am assuming that you mean the heat from them? If you are careful to not have them against the metal of the exhaust there should be no problems, i used my soft bags with both stock exhaust as well as aftermarket and never had a problem with heat. I also came up with a cheap way to keep the...

Changing Fork Innards on an SV650

Maybe host a GM (General maintenance) day for the locals. Oil changes, chains/Sprockets, cable lubing, fork oils, air filter cleaning, ect... I have been out of it for a while, many "Newbies" in the area? Working with Keira last night reminded me how much i liked teaching as opposed to just...

    Leaving Las Vegas

Frost heaves, pot holes, and black ice... learn these things, and buy a car for the winter... You can ride about 9 months a year if you are crazy and tough it out real cold, but there are probably a solid couple months that you would be stranded if all you had was a bike... Makes you...

Should I buy or should I go....

i would not go over $1K for that bike, and to boot he is willing to start it with no oil or antifreeze in it worries me.... who is to say he hasn't run it empty since the crash to show others, or to "just see if it will" Seems like he is trying to come out of his crash by making a buyer pay...

    Conversion finished....mostly

that looks great! i would love to fighter mine someday, but i am worried about wind and buffeting... I am doing a track day this year (at least 1) and i think i will pay attention to the wind and take the fairings off completely for the day...

Changing Fork Innards on an SV650

Yup, the Racetechs are holding up well, i also fell out of love a bit with riding last year with my little tumble and recovery, i barely put on 2k miles, which is a LONG shot from my average 12-15k miles a year. I fully plan on giving the old girl the love she deserves this year.

    Hi all.

That is my hope, i never got to ride when i was young, i started when i was in my early 20s and feel like i was missing the base that a lot of folks get my riding dirt and such. Yup, i will be making an effort to come back too.... crazy that i have not been on more than 3-4 times this year and...

    WTB - Stock exhaust for a 2009 FZ6

I have my stock one too that i would sell, but i am in NH, and i would be weary about shipping it cross country for cost reasons, the stock exhaust is freaking heavy. Let me know if you end up wanting me to check into shipping cost to SF from New Hampshire.

Bi-Xenon Projector: Morimoto Mini Stage III Kit Install (And my new mirrors)

I am exceedingly disappointed that i decided not to paint the inside of my headlight housing when i did mine, that looks drop dead sexy!

End tips and db killer for Leo Vince ovals?

the inserts are a big difference, i measured with my DB meter and it took them down from 123 Db to 112 Db. I loved the loud bike, but when i had my wife on the back, she would always get off with a headache...

FZ6 specific HID projector retrofit group-buy feeler

FWIW this and the racetec front fork springs were both the best mods i have ever done to my bike, make things almost litterally night and day different :)

I got to work on a piece of automotive/racing history!

that is pretty cool, it is amazing to see how such a pinacle of engineering of that time could litterally just fall apart and become "Scrap" Good luck with the repairs!
