I started my FZ6 up one morning recently at 9 degrees F. No problem... Turned over a little slower than normal but I would say it started after about 3 or 4 rotations of the crank. It went to high idle on its own and then low idle after a few minutes. My brothers V-Star 1300 on the other hand...

You can actually see in the first photo where a frame slider used to be. I don't have much faith in frame sliders anymore. It really didnt do anything. Plastic sliders will shatter and metal ones will possible break your frame.

I have thought about taking mine off but I find that I use it all the time especially for things like checking the oil and cleaning/lubing the chain as well as washing the bike and cleaning the tires. I never considered puting it back on when needed. I hadn't considered it would be that easy to do.

I might like to join in depending on how far away it would be.
