Sat on a FZ1 Today, Ohh Boy!

140 miles is possible if you baby the heck out of it and there's not a lot of hills but on any given ride, it would be a stretch. I typically am stopping at 125 miles to fill up. I have pushed it over 140 miles a couple times but it's not comfortable! I'd be inclined to carry a couple spare...

Sat on a FZ1 Today, Ohh Boy!

FZ1 FTW! :D Love it and never looked back at my 6. I did love the 6 though but I just really fell for the 1 in a big way. My wife is also on her own FZ1 and loves it... came up from the FZ6R. Of course, I had to lower it for her, like Brenda's. But she can also attest that the FZ1 can be...

Well folks, that's all she wrote for this FZ

Congrats on your perseverance! It would take a lot for me to give up on my FZ, just like you. Should I ever find my frame afflicted with the cracked weld issue of the '06/07 era FZ1's then I'd now not question repeating your efforts and performing the same surgery on my bike! Well done...

    Happy Birthday.....

Thanks all!!! My present was not directly for me, but I'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it! Bought a new 2012 Yamaha! TT-R50E! For my granddaughter Bridgette to begin learning on. She was elated, as am I! And yes, full gear purchased, some on the way... also got the training wheels...

Mick! Thanks mate! Well, I'm a few hours away still here but I'm starting the celebration tonight! How's life been treating you? Is the mess with Mum all sorted? I hope you've found some peace of mind.

Poor MPG: Things are not always as they appear to be...

I'm not going into the deeper details that John has posted but I could mimic his testimonial on Iridium plugs, not only on the FZ1 but in the Tacoma as well. Of all the reading I've done over the last couple years since switching, there is one factoid that holds true. Iridium is a performance...

To join or not to join?

No clubs or gangs here but when I organize group rides, it's ATGATT or go home. And I don't give an ounce of caring about what people think of my gear. I'd rather sweat than bleed!

    Pod Lights as Signals?

I did this a while back on the FZ1... I made them alternate with the stock signals when turning but running lights otherwise. 2009 FZ1 Pod Lights installed - YouTube

Thanks for the rep! The guy is quite a musician but is VERY humble in person... Says "I'm just a normal guy who can kinda play a guitar." LOL!

Rob Benton | Boston, MA | Rock / acoustic / Pop | Music, Lyrics, Songs, and Videos | ReverbNation He's actually either signing or just signed as the opener for a tour with Theory of a Dead Man. Maybe even headed overseas with that group! He does some awesome covers (all serious) and...

Are you in a peaceful State?

Tied for second... not bad! :D You know why Maine is so peaceful? (I'm from Maine btw)... There's nothing to do, there's no work, everyone is drunk and depressed and 80% of the state is forest without civilization. :D

And one of my wife Michele after she got her Top Saddlery seats for her FZ1. I dubbed this bike the Flying Purple Harley Eater.

Seems to be more of the FZ1 thread, eh Brenda? Here's mine... but not recent... More recent with the Euro Sport Scoops but without the new Penske 8983, my TS seat or Evotech FE kit... I have to wash and wax the beast so I can get a current shot of it with the mods it really has!

    Very preliminary selling questions

LOL! NO!!!! Those are for the third passenger who sits on the tank! I'm tellin' ya... these FZ1's will HAUL SOME ARSE! Three of 'em to be exact! ;) Seriously, those pegs are a great addition. You should black those out so they REALLY disappear! Norm has black ones on his 2008 FZ1 and...

    Very preliminary selling questions

I did a lot of questioning with members on several forums to find out who had the least amount of problems with what manufacturer's lines and everyone that installed HEL lines had the least issues and the best compliments. The biggest thing was discolored and rusted banjos and no one with HEL...

    Very preliminary selling questions

Cory! Nice!!! Congrats and welcome to the Liter Club! Get some HEL SS lines on there quick. BIG difference in stopping power (but be careful cause I did a stoppie with mine.... )

    Very preliminary selling questions

If I could let you test ride mine, you'd be more than convinced. ;) BTW, I just put in the Penske 8983 with the remote reservoir and a pair of Racetech springs to firm up the forks. The bike absolutely STICKS in the corners right now. I'm a new header and a Power Commander 5 away from...

    Very preliminary selling questions

Now THAT would have been a sweet deal. We have some riders who have racked up serious miles on their FZ1s. We have one lady who is now well over 200,000 miles on her Gen I. We have several over 50k on a Gen II and at least one with over 75k that I know of. I'll get worried about 300k into...
