    Out of Shoulder Surgery

Rob, sorry to hear that it came down to surgery, but at least you know it'll be back to normal after all the PT and crap that comes with it.

    ACH ride Saturday 12/5/09

Looks like a great ride other than the cold. I took the dirtbike up the backside of Palomar and there was snow/ice and man it was cold. The car is a Shelby Daytona Coupe and it's strange that it has a classic plate. From what I can see there were only 6 made, so if that's a real 64/65 car it...

    Riding while carrying coffee

Just the other day I came up alongside a Goldwing. Guy is sitting at the light with his external radio blaring some AM talk show, smoking a cigarette, open face helmet, and drinking a soft drink through a straw. Light turns green, he puts the soda in his cup holder, bites down on the cigarette...

what upright seating position bike if not and FZ6 or FZ1

If I had to go with an upright it would be the Triumph Tiger 1050. For more sporty upright I'd look at the Triumph Sprint or an older Honda VFR.

how do you stop yourself from lusting other bikes?

I'm a window shopper for sure, but when I start to lust too much I just open my wallet and reality kicks in. :shakehead:

    Back protectors

For the street jacket I upgrade the CE armor to the A* RC back protector. For the 1pc. suit I wear a separate A* Bionic back protector. For the dirt bike, I wear a full 661 pressure suit with back protector.

    Michelin Raod 2 - Front & Rear

Last Saturday I mounted a Road 2 onto the rear and am happy so far. I have a Pilot Power 2 on the front and the Road 2 replaces the Pilot Power that I had on the rear. The rear pilot power had 8500 miles on it and the indicators were gone, so it was time to replace. Looking forward to the...

    Another senseless loss

RIP rider :( Seems like there's been at least one hit and run on a motorcyclist each week. Sick of it!

Front Brake = No Brake Light

Awesome idea! Shorted the two connectors and instant brake light. I pulled the switch and tried jumping the terminals with each connected or separate and it's pretty clear the switch is the problem. It's probably easier to buy a new one than deal with getting it fixed under warranty. Kenny...

Front Brake = No Brake Light

All right, I did a quick search and found some useful thread, but none apply to my current situation. If I pull my front brake I hear the switch click, but no brake light. So I've done the following: Check rear brake - Works and brake light comes on. Check all other lights - Everything...

Desert Season is Open - Street Riders Beware

Mostly for So. Cal people, but thought it would be a good reminder for everyone. Desert season is officially on and the masses are making their way out to our deserts every weekend, myself included. So why should street riders beware? Because there's a lot of people in very large rigs and or...

    Ottimoto Adjustable Rearsets

I'm very interested in these. I have bad knees and would love to try some adjustable rearsets to see if I can't find a better angle than stock. I shot him an email asking if they're a complete bolt on accessory, or if there's any fabrication needed. Also asked if the pegs are interchangeable...

This bolt was loose on my bike

I had loose nuts and bolts all over my bike. Every time I do an oil change I grab some common size metric sockets, wrenches, and allens from the tool box and then do a quick one over on accessible nuts and bolts to make sure nothing has come loose. Thanks for the reminder!

    Moto Pak GTS-60 mounting

Mine should be arriving via Brown truck tomorrow. I'll play with it and see what I come up with. I don't ride with a passenger often though, so that'll make a difference.

What gear do you honestly use?

Commute = helmet, leather jacket, or mesh if it's hot, gloves, and riding boots. Distance = same as above, but add armored over pants. Canyons = helmet, 1-piece suit, gloves, and riding boots.
