To be honest the 3.3L motor is not very fast, its what I had, merging onto freeways was not fun until I modded the heck out of the engine! Because the Xterra is HEAVY! you want the 4.0L for sure. Good luck with your search. Oh and check this place out, www.thenewx.org

Oh, which Xterra forum was it, I can point you in a direction of a few depending on what year you are looking for. (I was a very active member on ClubXterra.com) but not so much on the others.

Hi, that was me, I had a 2000 Xterra, I sold it off last December. If you are interested in a 2000-2004 I could talk all day about them. But if its a 2005+ they changed everything and I dont know much at all, but I can tell you I read a review of the Toyota FJ Cruiser to the Nissan Xterra (2005+) and the Xterra won hands down in every category!
