All I can say if "Frame Sliders"!! I did a low-side behind a friend on his brand new Street 675. If not brand new, it would have been totaled. I had a scraped slider and a scratched rear cowling. - $75.00.
Following a good friend and good rider on his brand new Street Triple, hit gravel on a curve. He went down, so did I. About a 40 MPH low-side. Neither of us hurt as we both were in full gear, but his bike was totaled. Shattered engine cases, tank, bars, exhaust, wheels, frame all scratched up...
I went to the Scorpions and recommend them. Installation was easy, quality first-rate and the sound is only slightly higher at idle and low RPM's, but picks up at mid revs and absolutely screams above 10K!
"my friend can get literally endless amounts of 0w-40 from his job" Am I the only one suspicious of someone getting "endless" amounts of oil, apparently for free?
I'm also curious as to the high price for a "kick over". I had to lay my FZ down behind a buddy who went down in a corner and all I broke was a side cover, and it's just cracked. I did have frame sliders, though. His Street Triple suffered 5,500.00 and was only two weeks old!
My 2005 is stock except for Scorpion pipes and 1-tooth over on the countershaft. The 1-over brought my speedometer much closer to actual speed (GPS checked) until over 100 mph. Someone recently rode my bike to an indicated 145 mph and it had just about run out of steam, so I'm thinking a good...
I spent May 4 - 10 at the Deal's Gap Lodge with my FZ6 and RD400 with the two-stroke/Kawasaki Triples group, may be able to get back up there with you guys. I may have missed it, but didn't see anyone talking about staying at the Crossroads of Time. Is it already booked up?
Depending on how good a friend this is, you better either stay ahead of him (to avoid the crash altogether) or keep the ride slow and easy (to try and prevent one). The SV is a great handler (a close friend has one), but in the hands of an inexperienced rider, on winding roads and trying to...
One more thing - I've been meaning to mention that the picture in my profile box is of my daughter, starting the RD400 she learned to ride on, not me. Thanks again to the FZ community.
Rolled my RD out of the way, the FZ into the driveway, turned on the key and the error code was GONE. Back to normal display! Hit the starter and heard popping in the exhaust that sounded like post ignition from fuel fouling, but the engine wouldn't start. The smell of raw fuel in the new...
You are correct. I had that side cover off and had to unplug all of the wiring to the rear lights and blinkers, but did not touch the relays. I will try unplugging and re-plugging all of the connectors to see if that helps. Those pages are straight out of the same service manual I have been...
My bike will turn over fine, just won't run. Seems like it is not getting fuel. Just to be sure it wasn't a power problem I disconnected and charged the battery to 13.2 volts, even though it seemed to have plenty of power before doing this. Thanks for the response, though. I just don't see how...
