    Tempature coolant

70 is where you should be. Mine is always around 70 - 73 while moving and then it climbs up when sitting still. When it climbs it should reach up to 100 then kick the fan on and bring it to 95 and keep circulating that until you get enough air moving through it again to bring the temp down.

    Bought a New Bike!

Being 100% serious, go over to the honda grom forums and you'll see that's how they all recommend breaking it in. The hard braking thing is a load of bs too, mainly in there because you have to bed in the brakes, was easily doing endos and rear slides within the first 100km. The Honda thing is...

    Bought a New Bike!

Yeah I did, just did what the dealer said which was "Go hard, it's a Honda, just don't hold the rpms at one point for too long" me and my friend who bought one at the same time proceeded to burnout and wheelie away from the dealership. Cool thing is they said they'd still cover warranty for...

    Bought a New Bike!

I got a black one of these a month and a half ago too. Amazing little bike haha, so much fun. Takes a bit of getting used to but I bought it just as a fun bike so put a 14t front sprocket on and just piss around doing wheelies and the like on it.

    Honda Grom

These little things are amazing, was wondering if anyone else on the forum had gotten the chance to have a blast around on one. A friend of mine got one on a test ride a week ago and let me take it for a ride. Next to no power but so little that it's still fun to ride. The same mate and I are...

First Time at the Drag Strip

I was running on a 250 in my session against Screamin' Eagle Harleys and Turbo Busas running low 7s. There was even a turbod scooter/moped thing running lower times than me (hitting low 14s)

First Time at the Drag Strip

I remember taking my old 1988 VT250 out to the drag strip with a friend who had a GSXR-250. Was so much fun even on that running 15s. Also my first experience at an actual motorsport event (later took my car out to a drift day which was good fun too). Still haven't taken the FZ out yet but...

Crush washers - OEM or aftermarket?

Copper is copper, provided it's not exceptionally thin (even then it may still do) it'll seal just fine.

    New Radiator Options

Valid point, I had a crash on my old bike which bent the radiator cap point a little which I took to a radiator shop and got a new mouth put on for $50 NZD.

    New Radiator Options

They all seem to be made in China anyway. Provided they do fit OEM I'd probably go aluminium myself with one of those GPI Racing and paint it black (otherwise there's too much shiny). Would read reviews of people who have used the brand first though to make sure people haven't experienced...

Thinking of trading FZ6 for Ninja Z1000SX (sport tour) or FJ09 (MT09)

Have you looked into the GSR750 at all? (I think it's called GSKS750 or something like that overseas) Haven't gotten round to testing one myself but I've heard plenty of good things about them, if the GSR600 is anything to go off then it should be an amazing bike with that little bit of extra...

    Tire Penz

Wouldn't risk it myself. Would rather have max grip. Also can't imagine it would fit in a number of the tread patterns of Pilot Roads (especially those cross sectional ones on the front)

    Downsides to going naked?

I've always owned naked bikes and loved them. Only once have I ever wished I had a fairing and that was on a long ride on the motorway holding 110km/h. It was extremely windy and I was riding into the wind so holding my head forwards got extremely tiring on my neck. Good thing I listen to...

    who else uses Fuely?

Been using it for a while now, good to see my mileage isn't far off everyone elses (especially since I use it as a daily), can really see on my graph when I've been doing long rides though.

How much did you $spend on your fz6? $7200

$7500 NZD With majority of mods in my signature (all the performance ones anyway), had 14,800km on it. Fresh warrant of fitness (similar to MOT I believe), 12 months of registration (licensing fees, worth $400 NZD for this bike), brand new battery. Also only had 2 previous owners, first being a...
