Thanks for the reply, with the WD40 do I want to wipe off excess or just let it soak and than apply chainlube over it?
I bought the bike used, so I have to assume the previous owner never changed the chain have about 9k miles on her. I've always kept the chain well maintained before hand...
Thankfully she's been on a battery tender the whole while. Learned that lesson the hard way. Sunday morning is the big day I haven't even taken the cover off yet. Its like Christmas morning for me tomorrow haha.
I'm so glad you mentioned that you just jogged my memory! I ordered a ez glider lube kit almost a year ago and never used it. Woot I just found it buried in my tools.. you rock.
I'll get some pics up when she's back to her former glory!
(edit: she sat for almost 8months!)
So I had a on the road job and the poor girl has been sitting covered outside in all weather(mostly high heat, rain, no freezing weather). I added seafoam before I left and cranked her up every month when I was home. This is my to-do list have I forgotten...

I went to my local shop looking for new grips. I looked for the oldest motorcycle guy I could find and asked him what grips he used. After a long ramble about arthritis and how many grips he's gone through he recommended these:

My fuel usage is always a mix of highway and city I'd be safe saying its almost 50/50.
I figured now is the time to worry about mpg before summer hits and gas prices go up another dollar. From full till F trip I've been getting around 120miles to the tank. I'm going to replace my air filter...
So after a battery reset I managed to pull 119 miles, filled her up with 3.5 gallons got 34mpg(sprinted riding mix of highway and town). I also did a throttle body sync halfway through so we shall see how the next filled tank goes on mpg. I did notice however my exhaust is popping a lot when I...
I had a similar problem with my key. Go to your local autozone or parts store, and head to the check out counter. Almost all of them will have it right there. Its a little gray package if i remember correctly almost like a big sugar packet, its ignition grease. Just rip it open coat your entire...
So it'll take a few days before I can tell if the battery reset worked. I will say one thing I noticed today after doing the reset. My throttle response was amazingly better. I checked some stores for a sync kit none had them I'm thinking I'll have to order one.
Question: Can the TPS be...
Thanks motogiro I'm going to try that today along with seeing about syncing my throttle bodies. I've checked my odo against a trip I take often to visit my brother I fill up at the gas station before the interstate and reset the trip meter and it always reads the same, double checked it against...
Air filter: Clean, Tire pressure: Checked, Chain Slack: perfect, Wheels Aligned: Check, no extra equipment. Brakes dragging hmmm.. possible my front brake is getting a lil squeaky. My rear brake isn't dragging know for a fact. Syncing throttle bodies any idea how much that'll run me?

I've been trying to find the cause of this problem for a while. I'm getting around 25-30mpg no matter my riding style. I've changed out my spark plugs, oil, checked chain slack, tire pressure, throttle play, idle is at 1100, and I always wait for proper operational temp before heading out.
