I, for one, won't try to convince you. Honestly, unless you're seriously tracking/racing the bike, I don't think 'matched' pairs are going to make a world of difference on your work commute or quick trip to the supermarket. Common sense prevails.

After owning some very loud cars, I'm all about lowering the sound level as much as possible. I like how quiet the exhaust is. I always wear earplugs to cut down the wind noise. What I need is a helmet that eliminates 20+ dB of wind noise so i can go without earplugs.
