    Removing paint from header pipes?

It is unlikely that it is paint. Most paint will not hold up to the temperatures the header will experience. It is most likely powder coating or ceramic coating. I doubt paint stripper will remove either of those.

    Windscreens Again

Taller is not always better, just ask most of the guys who have put on the Yamaha Touring screen. I'm 5'7", my 2004 had the touring screen when I bought it and it bounced my head all over the place. I put on the piug double bubble and it stopped most of the head buffeting and improved the wind...

    Windscreen change

+1 on everything. If you are not wearing ear plugs you should try them. Not only will they preserve your hearing they will eliminate the buffeting/booming noises from casued by the turbulent windscreen air. They must fit correctly and be replaced regularly because they wear out and become...

    Help! Stuck oil drain bolt

Although well intentioned, unfortunately this is bad advice. A standard bolt has six sides and no matter how many teeth you have in a socket, only six will engage. You should use a socket with as many teeth as you have sides. this will allow the socket to have the most contact area with the bolt...

Pointy tread wear on front tire

It looks like low tire pressure to me. I had my first BT-021 do the same thing to me when I didn't keep a close eye on the tire pressure. Shortly after I put it on we took a trip to Branson, about 5 hours the long way. After we got there I noticed major wear that looked, not as bad, but, similar...

Rode one of these, on Sunday..

The wind noise is caused by the wind screen. You can see this for yourself by removing the windscreen on your FZ6. You will feel more wind but it will be clean wind and it will be wisper quiet.

    Dairyland insurance

My wife and have used State Farm for at least 15 years, which may factor into our rates. We have one car, a truck and two motorcycles. For liability I pay about $50 for the 2004 FZ6 and she pays $150 for her 2007 Ninja 650R. That is per YEAR. I don't know what makes you guys insurance so...

Increasing Stator Output - Rewinding Stator.

Exactly. It sounds like the voltage regulator is doing it's job. However extra unused capacity will definitely be discharged by the regulator as heat. You can't increase the stators capacity without also increasing/upgrading or at least evaluating all of the other downstream components like the...

    Dual Headlight Mod...HELP!!!

I have not read the 4 pages of posts so I hope no one has suggested this already. Untill you let the bike fully warm up the bike will bog down if you give it major throttle. Once it fully warms up it will function normally again. While you do your testing make sure it is fully warmed up...

    ninja 650r or FZ6

I just so happens that I have one of each. My wife rides the ninja and I ride the FZ6. We got the ninja for its seat height and my wife liked how it looked(pretty blue). I think they are both good bikes. They both have pros and cons. The ninja has a more comfortable seat but luggage options...

    2006 windscreen mod

Not to hijack the thread but can I suggest trying some different earplugs. I have had the same problem with some earplugs. If they don't fit well they actually allow the pressure variation that the windscreen causes through to your ears. The pressure variation is what seems to causes the low...
