That got me too! I wasn't sure what I was looking at until I turned my head after reading it was supposed to be a cat. :)

For my daily commute, at least during the winter, the freeway is a parking lot for about half my route home in the evenings. I only have to put up with night time lane-splitting for a few months out of the year, but it is a regular occurrence.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I'll stop using my high beams at night while lane splitting. For those who lane split regularly at night, what do you do to increase your visibility to the drivers in front of you?

Just curious what the consensus is. For those of you living in areas where lane-splitting is allowed, do you use your high beams while splitting lanes at night? This came to mind because I generally do. I had a driver blow their horn at me last night as I split past and it got me to thinking...

Agreed...maintenance is key. I've got 25k on my 07 (bought it from a co-worker with only 3k on the clock). I just had the valves checked and only 2 needed adjustment. Surprisingly, the shop was honest enough to let me know that although the manufacturer recommended changing out my chain and...

While I will definitely keep my FZ6 through to next Fall/Winter, due to the commuting I do, I'm definitely looking into moving to something with shaft or belt drive and bit more of a fairing. I find I'm getting more and more anal about keeping my running bits clean while getting lazier about...

I used to ride rain or shine but I guess with age comes wisdom and I don't ride in it anymore unless I happen to get caught in it by surprise.

Mine came set at 3. I just adjusted it to 5 this weekend to see if it helps get rid of the very slight wobbly feel from the front end. For reference, I weigh about 260 (not including gear) so I'm hoping the "weird" front end feel is due to the suspension not being setup for my weight.

Ugh...I feel so lucky. I was just cleaning and lubing my chain when I got home last night. I pinched my thumb between the chain and rear sprocket teeth because I was pulling the chain (the bottom) towards the rear wheel instead of away from it. I'm just glad I didn't have the bike in gear or...

Normally helmet, gloves, jacket, and boots (although not always motorcycle-specific boots). If it's cold, I have leather overpants I'll wear as well. In the summer, I have a mesh jacket that has body armor but very little abrasion resistance, but considering it gets 100+ in the summer out...
