I'll still nip in every now and again
My issue is being a member of so many forums, really tarting myself out these last few years in the quest of knowledge!:innocent:
cheers everyone
Monica, it's definitely a different ride but that engine is something else Blah , I noticed on paper that the FZ6 had the edge in the lower MPH figures and I feared I'd miss the powerband jolts in the top end of the rev range.... but! the triple pulls in virtually...
WB - You'd be surprised Blah
This ones a 2006 with 26k on the clock. I was looking for between 10-15k miles but read loads about these easily hitting 100k without issues - plus i literally stole this one for the money I paid . No mods really apart from soft panniers...
Well folks, it was a short ownership, 15 months to be exact but I've loved every minute of it! The support here has been fantastic and helped me do quite a few mods, all approved by the new owner. Many thanks to everyone involved.
Here's the old replaced by the new - much love!
Ah yes the triple is a much lighter bike isn't it. I wonder what the difference in the engine is, if any.
That'll be a fantastic ride over there
That's a relief :D how have you found the Triple? On paper it looks a bit slower on the bottom end, I've read that that is quickly sorted with an 18T sprocket (to replace the 19) :D
Haha I am soo glad we are not local to each other, selling bikes looks like a massive PITA!
My mass debate...
Thanks  and no, not an FZ1 unfortunately.
I have my eye on a Triumph 1050 Sprint Triple :)
How was the transition for you? do you miss the 6er or does the FZ1 fill that space nicely?
Well after almost 18 months of trouble free riding I am finally selling her in favour of a 1 litre replacement. Gonna miss this one and will probably regret it in the end.
Nevertheless....
57 plate black FZ6 with almost 10500 miles. Tax and Tested until Feb 2015.
Just had it's annual oil...
Another one for the brushed metal XX14 - the most solid lock I could find with integrated alarm.
You quickly learn to take it off and put it on in time for the confirmation beep ;)
On occasion mine goes off randomly but I think this is attributed to the placing on the disc as mentioned above...
If you can be bothered like me ;)
I treat my wheels the same as my bodywork on the car. De-tar, De-iron and then clay them before adding a layer of base sealant followed by a top layer of final finish sealant. Once a year is sufficient, top up the top coat once a month (or 2). Nothing sticks...
It seems that way after further reading - appears to have the true tourer label, heavy in refinement. One forum I came across where they had a huge debate, labelled the FJR an 'appliance' for those not wanting to worry about things like chain oiling, gear changes and riding's usual quandaries...
