Trinity's friends dad got one of these yesterday. Harley-Davidson | Motorcycles | 2008 Motorcycles

He wanted to go for a ride so I kept it superslow, I mean like oh my god this is borning slow. It still scraped in a easy turn, he stood it up and about ran it off the road. It sure is pretty though.

The XR is freaking awesome. I was doing my damnedest to be a good lead bike, making sure that I went thru turns way way way under any type of even lightly spirited riding.

He also told me he had it up to 90 in second. (I smiled and nodded) They are freaking beautiful though. I can see why people want them.

Second that. Not that I would buy one, but it seems odd they aren't even offering it for sale. I read the article and press release. Built for Europeans? It's a motorcycle. How much different can it be? The original XRs were dirt trackers - I used to watch them race XR-750s at the State Fair as a kid. I thought most European roads were paved by now ... :justkidding: :Sport:

IMO Harley has lost their way. The XR1200 is a GREAT bike, if you live in Africa, but not the US. Motorcyclist raved about it, putting the handling with the new KTMs! The frame is much better, the forks are upside down, it has real wheels and brakes, the motor has been tweeked with Buell technology. Its a great bike, but no we don't get it. The reason is the Harley market in the US is slowly shrinking so Harley, which has limited production capacity, and makes more money exporting (weak dollar) is selling to Europe. The EUs will not buy traditional US junk, so Harley got smart and designed a great bike to get sales and keep the MFG line busy. Here's the deal, it Harley could hit price point, the would sell the crap out of them here.
