I'm considering installing,as one choice,a D.i.D. 530VX3 drive chain because others said it's a good one, although it's a good bit wider than my stock OEM 50V4 DiD chain..
The link pins/chain width of the D.i.D. 530VX3 measures 25.3mm 🤔
My stock Yamaha DiD 50V4 chain measures 24mm pin width.
I love the quality of the OEM Yamaha DiD 50V4 chain and there is one available through Partzilla, although it's an endless chain, and I'd rather not have to remove the swingarm;I can't find a DiD 50V4 master link for it.
I want to stay with 530 chain,not 525.

Edit:I may reconsider removing the swingarm pivot bolt and lower shock mount,to see if I can tip the swingarm over enough to get a new endless OEM DiD #50V4 Yamaha #94582-11118-00 drive chain over it;hoping that's all that's required, plus I can also grease the swingarm pivot bearings while I'm in there.
I'm looking around online for the(Partzilla is asking $167)best deal for an endless stock chain.

The DID 530 X Ring Gold is the one that most people (including myself) recommend, usually with JT sprockets.

It comes with a master link and you can buy a chain tool online for not too much money (just check for a majority of good reviews as there are a few duff ones out there).

There's no point in going for 525 (or even 520) as the slight less amount of weight really isn't going to make a difference for anyone who's not actually racing!

Thanks Graham,I have a heavy RK chain tool for squeezing the moveable sideplate and riveting a rivet-style master link;from what I read, the DID 530 X Ring is a durable chain.

I purchased the standard Yamaha 50V4 original endless chain from Partzilla last night.
I also purchased the standard OEM Yamaha 16T front sprocket at the same time;I had previously purchased a 45T Vortex steel rear sprocket in hopes that the one less tooth may keep me from trying to shift to a non-existent '7th gear' :)

I can't find a DiD 50V4 master link for it.
I was only able to find one old listing for a 50V4 with master link, and it was a clip type.
I'll never use one of those (clip type master link) again on the street. I got lucky and spotted the clip missing before the whole thing had a chance to come apart.
It's possible the 50V4 chain only had closed loop or clip type master as options.
Let us know how hard it is to install the closed loop type.

Ok,will do.

The FZ6 has lots of power & snap in it's drive chain;I won't use a clip-type on my chain.
