how to carry petrol on the bike for longer trips

can anyone advise a safe way to carry extra fuel/petrol on the bike for long trips the tank has 16litres I believe with a distance of 300 kilometres; how to got more by carrying fuel/petrol

OP is from Australia - it's more of a necessity than a choice for him. Those Rotopax look pretty sweet, watch out if you mount them vertically though, appears that the mounting hardware wasn't built for that and you'll need to beef it up a bit.

I have used(and still occasionally use) MSR bottles and have never had a problem. The capacity isn't large, but I feel they are secure.

You could also rig up an Aux Fuel tank somehow. This is a US site, but I'm sure they could work with you and ship.

I know on ADV and the HUBB a couple of people has used a similar type as once used you don't have the bulk of a empty container to worry about.

haha - just remember which one you put the fuel in and which one has water.
