Anyone from the New York area hear anything about a fatality last weekend during a BRC?

"The back of the bike came up, she went over the handlebars and came down on her head," Rashelle Pitcher said. "What was supposed to be a fun thing turned out to be a tragedy." Family members believe Marianne Pitcher may have broken her neck, however an autopsy is scheduled, Rashelle Pitcher said.'

"Eric said the medical examiner's office told him his wife had no bruises, broken bones or other injuries."

It's so sad to hear this. Two of my dad's friends had accident too this year. The accident happened at the slow speed in town, an SUV makes a left turn on him. Now I really don't want to ride around town anymore. Please be careful on the road fellow bikers. Another common accident is rear ended, so don't forget to check your mirrors periodically especially when you stop at intersection.

Btw, It's 32 degree here in MN, and I'm riding my bike to school still, and still love my FZ6

It sounds similar to how my father died, Aortic Dissection.

It is truly heartbreaking when something like this happens, as I can recently relate. You're reported as healthy with no problems one day and the next day you're gone.

May she rest in peace and my sincere condolences to the family.

This is something i didnt want to read today....

But before i started riding even, my dad would always tell me that "if you fall wrong at even 3mph, you can get seriously messed up." never actually heard a case for it, but it made sense. he never gave the shpiel about somebody he knew that...(insert mythical scenario here) and it happened just that it could happen. it makes a really good case for helmets and gear in general if not ATGATT.

You could have put in in the RIP forum.

There is some traffic amongst other RC's in the Instructor's Forum. There is some guessing based on the time it happened versus the class start time it was maybe during RE13 or 14. But this is just speculation.
