WHOA!!! Poor FJR!

Saw this on my local forum too. The only odd thing here, is why was someone filming this? Judging by the steadiness of the camera, he was using a tripod. Sounds like a setup if you ask me.

I thought it may be fake also because of the quality of the camera and the way the camera followed the bike perfectly. But if you look at the driver he keeps looking at the path in front of the bike until the saddle bag hits the post and it's to late. If it was planned he probably would have at least glanced at the landing zone before the first hit.

Anyway I did get a little laugh out of it for some strange reason.

On the dutch site where I saw this they said it was a french test rider from motojournal, taking the new FJR for a spin, I can imagine they wanted to catch it on camera as well.

I would love to see the insurance form, especially the sketch of how it happened ;)

Yeah.. those guys do a lot of goofy things on bikes (see some of their other vids on youtube.. quite entertaining!), so entirely possible that this was a setup.

Tax write off? but not worth a broken neck IMO. Then again we didn't really see the Final Impact all that well.

Unless that rider is (was?!) a stuntman - or suicidal or irrational - there is NO WAY that was staged. That looked downright dangerous and scary as hell - difficult to pull off a "staged" event of exactly that nature even under the best of circumstances.

Methinks that Google's translation of the YouTube description which accompanies the video leaves a little to be desired:

"Dummies series invented the "Regis is an *******." I take away with so worthily, "Lolo is a jerk" or how to dive in the port of Saint Martin en Ré with Yamaha FJR 1300. Pending an upcoming episode, you also let us enjoy your wildest adventures!"

Where is David when we need him? :BLAA:
