Speed bleeders...

When i went to put the speed bleeder in, i tightened it down, and then some more.. and then sheared it off.. had to drill out the rest of the bleeder and that killed the caliper. granted my own fault, but still.. was not overly impressed with them or myself..

Sorry to hear that.

I will be sure not to make that mistake either.

I figure for $10 I can take the risk of trying them. That's a cost of 3 slices of pizza here.

The downside about "use a torque wrench" is then people wait for the "CLICK" instead of paying attention to what they "should be feeling" and SNAP! To LE's point, when it feels wrong it probably is. STOP!

Personally 20" of silicone hose, a turkey baster (suck out the old fluid) and a wrench and your set. Its all in arms reach. And if you don't have the SBs please DON'T pump the levers repeatedly while the bleeder is open! Its not helping the cause!

Torque is 4.3 ft.lb Since most 3/8" drive torque wrench start at 5 ft.lb you need to use a 1/4" drive. When you get to close to the lower limit the torque wrench loose its accuracy (I never use mine under 12-15 ft.lb)... then you're right, you don't feel it.

52 in.lb is the number for my 6R... can't be that different.

yea, except i did not use the torque wrench for the bleeder... just a hand one and "opps"...
