New rider with a new FZ6

Hey,

I just bought me an 07, I'm going to pick it up here in about an hour. I'm more nervous than excited. This is my first bike and I don't have much time on bikes at all, other than dirt bikes when I was younger. I'm going to sign up for a Motorcycle Safety Course, which I think will help. The salesman said he would ride the bike to my house if I want, it's just a mile, but I'm not sure if that is necessary. I kinda have a feeling that once I get on and rolling I'll be ok.

Just take it steady! I thought getting a big bike licence over here was quite easy, but it seems over there you guys can just pick one up and ride off

just don't get in over your head, maybe take a trip around the parking lot or down some back streets before you get out in traffic. Be safe and remeber all those cars cannot see you! they are out to kill you and you have to watch out for them! be safe man and let us know how it turns out.

My salesman was really cool. He took it to a park for me where I spent about an hour riding until I got comfortable enough to ride it home. I had to get on a four lane highway to get home, got up to 55 no problem

I did just about the samething 4 months ago. I did take the MSF course first then bought the bike. Being just a newbie myself I would say take it easy, keep your headd on straight and enjoy the bike. I am.
