Yes, the "turbo" (V-TEC) kicks in at 7000RPM and is not brutal but feels great (can't wait until I put some decent pipes on it to make it growl like it should).

I overheard your conversation on pipes, I cant help but chime in. I'm with the Op, the vfr exhaust looks:

a. belongs in speedracer cartoon.
b. two double barreled shotguns with chrome stock and barrel.
c. pipe organ
d. from some ancient time before high performance engines used collectors.
e. heavy.
f. wanton marketing of VFOR PWRD VTEC 1SD SWGM FTW!
g. totally out of place on a super clean and respectable sporty tourer.

Before I got the ZF6 last year I had test rides on VFR800's and Sprint ST's. Love d the Triumph but found it a bit too... "relaxed"?
I find the viffer a bit more sportier but the ST is a great bike (and it's a triple!)
