Thanks for pics, really enjoying them! I love seeing different cultures. Despite my Scottish heritage, I've always been facinated with Russia. I'd love to visit one day,especially after reading an article in Cycle World last year about riding a motorcycle along the Road of Bones (or something like that). You ride a Ural yet?

Brought this back from the market:

Awesome dinner last night. It's called "Lula Kebob".. ground up chicken with spices and onions wrapped in "lavash".. paper-thin bread.

Average building entrance. (sad to say it's not much nicer when you actually enter, but apartments may actually be very nice). Some buildings are very very nice, but majority appear to look like the one pictured here.

It is a very good idea! The locals can throw the trash out of the window! You should not take out the trash!

This is not Russian stuff. Either Turkish or Armenian, definitely not Russian. "Lavash" is national Armenian bread.

However, crepes (Blini) are national Russian meal, you mentioned about them. We are very best in this:thumbup:

Absolutely right! There's loads of "Kavkaz" influence here in Rostov.. which is a great thing when it comes to food, in my opinion

People. The road of bones is located in Yakutia. This is Eastern Siberia. This region has a lot of prisons. There are many murderers, rapists and other bad guys in those prisons. Some of them stay in those places, when they go out. So, they live in small communities with rules which look like prison's ones. They give birth to children. In turn, these children grow up inside this environment. It costs them nothing to kill anyone, without any reason.

Here are some recent facts below:

1. Two years ago. Russian biker was on his way back home from Vladivostok. He pulled over, pitched his tent and was going to sleep. Three morons killed him and burned his body. Do you know why? He refused their offer to drink vodka with them.

2. 4 weeks ago. Japanese biker was killed. Read this ITAR-TASS : Japanese motor-cyclist killed in Zabaikalye

3. A few months ago. Russian photographer was looking for a train station. He came up to three drunk locals and asked them the way. They killed him. As they explained later, this man had an expensive camera, they were going to sell it and buy vodka.

People are literally sick in this region. 33% are in prison, 33% went out of prison. 33% are going to be imprisoned. You are lucky if you survived.
