Off to Russia for 2 weeks

Both flights were good. Weather is about the same as it is in NJ.. 25C. Gotta take some pictures of the cars I've not seen in 25 years.. Lada.. Niva.. etc. They look extra sharp next to top of the line BMWs!

A couple years ago I went to countryside far away from Moscow. The locals were shocked, because I looked like an astronaut (leather protective gear). Also, they have never seen other motorcycles except "Ural". So, the bravest guy came up to me and asked "how much does you bike cost?". I told him the price. Amazed guy said: "Are you nuts? You could buy two Ladas, but you bought a motorcycle instead"

Yup! Best entertainment I've experienced on a flight to date. Particularly loved the fact that they have a front-pointing camera so you can actually watch the plane get up to speed and take off.. same goes for landing. :thumbup:

I'll do my best to remember. Flight attendants were less than hot, but nostalgic Russian uniforms were cool. :thumbup:

Found this outside of our apartment when we were leaving for a walk in the morning:

We're staying in a brand new building/brand new apartment. Here's a shot of my wife in the elevator (fancy! )

Check out this meat selection (same selection applies to fish, produce.. you name it... I was too overwhelmed to take more pics once we got out of the meat section!)

By the way, I understand why the elevator looks so bad. A new building, just they try to keep it in a good condition. That's why they installed this stuff on the wall.

I think this is going to be the closest I will ever come to going to Russia so keep those pictures coming so thank you for posting. That meat section was incredible, kind of feel sorry for anyone who's a vegetarian who saw that picture.

We have many nice boxes here, all of them contain many useful info, beautiful pictures and so on. The price is twice higher. I guess, the eggs are the same Is it worth it? I don't think so.:thumbup:

People, for most part, are awesome! Very nice and friendly. Service.. that's another story.. it's like you're asking them a huge favor when you walk into their store. This is not universal though.. have had very good service in few places.

When you are right - you are right. There is no service in the RF. Sometimes, it seems that you owe them something It's ridiculous. When I come back home from Europe, it takes about 2 weeks to get accustomed to this so called "service"...

Matryoshki (Russian stacking dolls)

Wifey at local *Starbucks* (different name, same idea). Nothing special about the picture, but the absolutely awesome thing about this chain.. blini!! It's Russian version of crepes, which is infinitely better tasting (crepes are plain, whereas blini on their own have great flavor)

Another great food-related thing here.. markets! They're everywhere and are open every day! Amazing fruit selection and everything seems to be really fresh and delicious.

Average building entrance. (sad to say it's not much nicer when you actually enter, but apartments may actually be very nice). Some buildings are very very nice, but majority appear to look like the one pictured here.
