Shifting question

Are there any cons to clutchless shifting? Id would assume now since i dont hear a grinding noise, but maybe im wrong.

While we're at it, what grade of gas should you use? :BLAA:

Done smoothly clutchless upshifts seem harmless to me but others might disagree. I tend to do it in the higher gears mainly and at lower revs.

if done incorrectly it can probably wear/damage the gearbox, i usually use the clutch for downshifts and 1st -> 2nd. I also use the clutch when riding slowly

i always use the clutch up and down,once read a mag review,they answered the same question many people asked regarding clutchless changes,so they bought a newish honda hornet and rode it that way,it eventually failled and the repair bill was,well it wrote the bike off,i cant see any advantages on the road,
on a similar note 1st to 2nd gear changes when revved hard in 1st can give a brutal clunk on my bike,has anyone else noticed this
only my thoughts on the subject but i need to look after my ride and i try to ride as smooth as possible becouse i think its the key to been fast and safe

I'll clutchless shift above 3 gear, in the mid RPM's on occassion. If done correctly (it'll shift very smooth, like an automatic) it won't hurt anything (if anything it'll save a little wear and tear on your clutch).

When racing MX 2 strokes years ago (YZ 125's and 250's), we only used the clutch on the start, after that, NEVER USED THE CLUTCH, up or downshifts...That's with WOT to red line (if it had a tach). Never broke the gear box...

i would say that a clutch is a lot cheaper and easier to replace than a gearbox though

not sure how well designed the fz6 gearbox is, i know the early R6's had problems
