SoCal Cinco de Mayo Ride **Plus New Video!**

Join the Hoons for a fun filled adventure riding the mountains and twisties for a celebration of Cinco de Mayo! Sombreros are optional if they don't blow of in the the straight aways.

It's about time we got our Brotherhood of the Hoons to meet up because it's just been too long since we've had the FZ6 group out together.

Ten day weather forcast says Borrego will be 80 deg F and sunny! We can figure out what routes we'll take as the week progresses.

Lunch at the Rong Branch in Julian sound good?

I'd go but I work Friday, don't get off until Saturday morning at 0100. Don't think I can make the 1,300 mile trip out in time to ride with you guys that morning. I'd have to average about 145mph to get there in 9 hours to be there by 1000. My bike will do 145, heck, I've had it to 155 but the bugs really hurt at that speed.

Depends on what we all come up with by the end of the week. Usually 76 and the 15 at the mobile station or Mira Mesa Blvd and the 15 at the Shell station.

LOL, come on over cause I doubt he would notice as he is kinda deaf from years of teaching music, plenty of room in the drive way but you will need to bring donuts for the guard dogs:BLAA: (no chocolate just glazed)

I've stopped with the donuts but now that you said it I want a coffee and two glazed....hell make it 4.....Crap I'm headed up to Randy's Donuts right now!

Most of us have some experience riding in these areas in groups but I won't assume that all of us are experienced.

A few tips for anyone riding this Saturday is make sure you have things like water. If you don't have a hydration pack try to bring bottled water in maybe a back pack, tank bag or tail bag. You can need water very quickly in some of these riding conditions because of heat and loosing water while having fun.

It shouldn't be too hot this Saturday but....

This is also a very buggy time of year. There are certain areas that really load your visor up. I always carry a little spritzer bottle and micro cloth.

I know many of us get our gear piece by piece. It's a good idea to finish your kit ASAP. I can't stress this enough! If you think your hide is cheaper than gear you are sadly wrong. You can afford it!

I'm looking forward to seeing all of you on the ride!

Well Cliff, i followed your advice and picked up a set of used leathers for the bottoms. Man they are tight, im going to try and ride a little before saturday in them so i get used to them.

By the way my neighbor should be accepting delivery on his 2012 Ducati Streetfighter 848 on friday. Im going to invite him out if he is interested, as well as a few harley riders.
