I realized today how much I hate those road reflectors! Especially those rouge ones that seem to be misplaced mid turn and right about the time you seem it it's too late and you feel the whole bike jump and if your going fast enough you hear a faint tire screech as it lands!!! That's one of the many butt puckering things I hate, what puckers y'all up?

whenever im goin down backroads and some yahoo in their jacked up truck takes their half of the road out of the very middle....its usually mid turn that I meet them :spank:

On my commute home Riverdale Road is three lanes, and at one particular light most of the traffic is in the two outside lanes. I approach the light down the center lane, but always with my thumb on the horn because that's where people go, "Oh, there's no one in the center lane!" and pull right into it without checking six.

Haha, but seriously though, one thing that gets me is when the rear starts to come out too much when getting on the throttle in corners. The R1 does that pretty frequently on colder days and there's still a lot of gravel out there right now.

And gravel roads with deep gravel when the bike starts literally swimming with the front waving back and forth as though it's on a pillow. I tense up REAL good when that starts happening.

Noticed that a lot on that ride on the GS on some of those back roads....I have terrible off road skills compared to many riders out there.

People in cages texting, reading, eating, or generally just not paying attention. Especially when they're behind me and we're coming to a traffic light controlled intersection when the ligh goes yellow. Way too many idiots trying to get through and doing it on red! Can I shoot them?

And where I live, wildlife doesn't understand that roads are perilous. Deer, turkey, sandhill cranes, and many other furry sprinters. Can I shoot them, too?

Oh yeah I know exactly what your talking about with the gravel!!! It took me a while to figure out that when on gravel, sand or any non-solid road surface speed is your friend which seems like a contradiction but the faster you go the smoother and more control you have.

Haha, the faster you go the more it swims side to side. Seriously it just starts drifting and the front just swims. God I hate that feeling. I slow down.

Even with the aggressive knobby tires on the GS I had the same issue.

Tires do not a better rider make.

Seriously next time your out in some gravel try it, at first the front does start to squirm more but at a certain point it starts to "float" on top of it and no more squirm!! I'm sure some dirt bike riders can back that up.

Chevy's right Lone...
L.A. county raceway(sand) and Lemon Grove(mud) both in CA, were what these tracks are known for...I rode these often. The faster you go, the higher you float. But, Im more willing to hit the ground on either of those compared to hard top.

The potholes - always around a corner where they are hard to miss ....

I absolutely HATE road snakes, that tar/crack filler stuff, especially when it gets warm. A lot of nice roads here are ruined for me because they use the stuff all over the place, and the bike wiggles around on it. I've hit it on on-ramps and felt like I lost the front end (only time I've almost put my foot down...at 30mph). Scary, scary thing.

Extra thick tar snakes. Especially in turns. They just have a way moving your bike around in an unpredictable manner. It feels like the bike is going to shoot off the road, even though it always just sort of "jukes" around a bit.
