It doesn't matter who's at fault after you are crushed under an SUV. I cant tell you how many times someone cut me off in LA traffic. If i tried to kick cars like this guy I probably wouldn't be here right now. Mr cool beard needs to cool off and not put his life on the line over nothing.

I love how everyone reveres the cyclist as a 'hero' and that it is a "win." But when the motorcyclist did something a lot less damaging and nearly got killed over it, he is considered being stupid and at fault.

I think that what really set that driver off was not captured on that video. There's probably a reason why the videographer started recording, maybe something unacceptable that the biker did, that we'd all say he shouldn't have done. But I don't see any way that the driver's use of deadly force was justified. That driver belongs in a cell.

Actually, the cyclist didn't have the right to ride in this lane. Definitely, this situation was his own fault. Moreover, the driver lost the possibilty to see other riders on the road, however he must to get to a dealer at least and buy a new mirror. How many other riders will be in danger during this trip without a side mirror? More than one. If you want to break the mirror, think about your motobrothers first.

I've probably watched it dozens of times and the best I can tell the cars are coming to a stop, bike starts to lane split, lady try's to cut the bike off because there are 2 cars blocking her to the left so impossible to be changing lanes, biker don't like that lady tried cutting him off so kicks the car, lady goes crazy....

Her wheels are pointed straight when you see him looking back at her. That tells me that she probably didn't see him splitting and she was making a lane change and then saw him and straightened her wheels. I would think if she was being aggressive and blocking him, her wheels would still be turned left. He instead of passing was the aggressor and kicked her car. She never touched his bike and I don't think she did anything wrong except ram him the first time.
The second run is questionable to me because he continues to threaten her by heading toward the car.

I think he bullied her. I bet if it was a football player in the car he would have been more polite and been on his way. Instead he took his aggression out on her and thought he could ride away. If his bike had been hit by her I would think he would at least stop to examine the bike. None of those ideas seem to support him ever being hit. Bike is behind car, bike split, car is moving left, all vehicles are stopped, car wheels are straight, biker is clear, kicks car and it's on!
I see a rider put himself at risk because of his emotions and the lady was a little more afraid and emotional than he was. Again, she may be a woman alone in a car and now the guy is approaching her on foot instead of staying away from her. He again risks life and limb by ending up on the hood of her car. His third bad move is he reaches into the car. Ever see a LEO just reach into a car? He has no idea whether she would or could defend herself from within the car.

Again she was not right in ramming him. It was simpler and better for him to just continue and have nice day riding. One moment every one is going their way and the next their are lives at risk and three damaged vehicles...

I just can't see her trying to change lanes with 2 cars directly to her left, but in brazil lane splitting is illegal so the biker was in the wrong to begin with, but the lady completely over reacted, as for the second hit its hard to say, maybe the guy was going to pull her out of the car, maybe he just went to ask for insurance info who knows, but like mike said who knows what actually instigated this to begin with. It would be real interesting to have seen the video started a min or so sooner.

Both of these people (rider and driver) obviously have some issues. I agree with several pieces of posts in the thread. We don't know what led up to this point so we can't know if there was any aggression or dumb driving before what we see. I don't want to sound like I'm defending the driver, because I do think she performed some criminal actions here, but so did the rider.

I do see that the car window is rolled down and the rider looks back a couple of times before kicking the car. We don't have much audio, so we don't know what was exchanged verbally. He might have had some words for the driver at that point, or maybe not. Also, it appears to me that he disappears from the frame quite a bit before he comes back in on the hood of the car...plenty of time for words to be exchanged or yelled. For all we know he could have threatened her life or safety.

Verbal threats are no cause for use of deadly force, but if she was scared and had adrenaline going(which I'm guessing was the case), things don't always go the logical route.

Obviously at any point in this interaction it would have been smarter for one of the sides to "shut it down" and wait on the LEOs to show up and deal with the other person, but road rage always escalates.

At the end of the day, I try to remember I'm completely exposed while this other person is surrounded by safety features. No confrontation is worth me losing my health or life which can both easily happen in the blink of an eye because I made a dumb decision to try to get a point across.

No one can really comment on this - didn't see what happened to start it all off. All I saw was him kicking the car, the driver accelerating (might NOT have been deliberate at first) and then all hell broke loose. She was either really scared or a real looney. Can't decide which.

I'd say they both got into some serious trouble for this one.....

That is similar to my logic.

Had a riding instructor tell me and a bunch of other riders that "we pay our registration bills and we deserve our road space" blah blah... essentially saying if someones up your arse, just continue to ride normally. Whereas I believe I should pull over when safe to do so and let the moron on ahead of me. There's nothing to be gained, unless you consider having an irate driver sitting on your tail a good thing... lose all of 10-20 seconds to let someone past.

Indeed it is unknown whatever triggered both actions but at the end of the day the biker could have ended up dead (or badly injured) and the driver in jail (probably for a long time).
Everybody's reactions write your future and when these reactions are dictated by anger or bad temper then the future is most likely not going to be good!!!!! We do not know what kind of day either one of them was having and on these kind of situations any argument, confrontation, frustration, etc. is not worth your life, health or freedom.
