Same in the UK, and most European countries bar France (where it means 'I'm coming through get out of my way'). I would never flash my light when overtaking as it would give the wrong impression and the other person might think I'm giving them right-of-way. I sometimes use it when filtering through traffic instead of the high-beam switch, but wouldn't flash it, I just hold it on till I'm passed the car that looks like it might change lanes without looking.VEGASRIDER said:
Its the high beam flash on the left handle bar switch. In the UK and other parts is called the pass signal and is sometimes marked as such. Technically in the UK it is illegal to flash your lights to move some one out of your path (aggressive driving). Most people use the function to allow drivers out of junctions ect or into their lane. As has been described, I did use it on one ride to get through the traffic. I then saw a guy in a black Merc tailgating and flashing his lights. He looked like a real wanker (so did I ) so I dont do it.
I agree with you mate.To clarify to those that are unfamiliar with this, it's really a handy option. It's just like a trigger, but it bounces back quickly so you can "click" it rather rapidly, and therefore flash your highbeam rather rapidly. Also, here in the states, if you flash the vehicle in front of you, they're more likely to get pi$ of and slam on their brakes before they'd ever just move out of your way and let you pass... But even though the U.S. FZ6's don't have this switch, a lot of the Suzuki bikes do. I know for sure the GSX-R 600 has had it since '07 but I don't know of any other makes that do.
