Silly Aussie, a dingo must have ate yo baby.

:)

Lol, I'm sure it'll work for most people. Might have to process through their filters or something first before it works.

Maybe I should try it on something other than my iPhone - it is probably still embedded flash, hasn't been converted to iPhone native yet.

Yep, not on iPhone or my tablet :-) video is NOT mobile friendly yet.

you mean not apple friendly, works fine on android devices with flash installed ;)

btw, what do you reckon is the best place to position a camera for a track day. was thinking of getting a HD hero or contour HD.

Great video!!.. up to the 1m40s mark when eclipse started :rof:

j/k... thanks for sharing, Lone.

haha

and here is a mobile friendly version....I hope.

edit, nope still not working on my phone. wtf. I have that same file on my iphone and it plays as it is the apple 640x480 setting on sony vegas.

me no get it

Just out of curosity, since I've never done a track day: what is the speed range between the curves and straights? From the speed of the ground rushing by (granted, on a video) it looks as if the speeds aren't enough to start sending you back in time, but rather it's the challenge of taking the perfect corner at relatively sane speeds pefecting technique?

When you upload a video to YouTube, it converts any file to a flash video (or some such rubbish). Apple, in all their wisdom, refused to license flash for their iPhones - said that it was too clunky and would never pick up.

A decade later, their stupidity shows through. ALMOST every video on YouTube, after upload, is converted to a 3gpp (or some such rubbish) format - and if you visit the link on a device that defaults to mobile browser, it will try to access this version. If for some reason it hasn't converted to mobile yet, it's simply a waiting game.

Tried to open it on my tablet, and it wouldn't work at first ecause it went to m.YouTube.com - retried it on the classic YouTube.com, and it went fine n

I hate apple so much. The only thing I hate more than apple are the people who used to say "don't buy microsoft, they're an evil corporation, buy apple they are friendly and fuzzy"

Well, microsoft is/was much more accessible than apple will ever be. Apple have truly extreme business practices when compared with microsoft. All microsoft ever did was stuff like bundle their internet explorer in their operating system.....oh god no!!

It all......depends on the track.

My local track here:

Race City 3 hours south of here:

Two very different tracks. The one here is very tight and technical. The one in Calgary is a drag strip with some squiggly bits at the end.

That being said, every track will have a slow street group on trackdays. Just imagine you're on public roads....but you're not. You don't HAVE to go balls to the wall just because you're on a track. It's just a closed circuit.

Ride your own pace, work on your lines, throttle, braking, and body positioning. The great thing is that by the end of the day you'll be amazed at how comfortable you are. You are much quicker than you realize. As you strip away the nervousness and fear and get in some practice, you will feel awesome.

When you nail a corner eventually and you know you hit it just right, nothing feels better.

Get out there. This is why you bought a sporty bike and not a floating sofa.

You did great out there! Looking good!

I like that tight track!

Thanks!

I should be able to get in 3-4 more trackdays before my level 2 race school. I'll try to really push myself during that race school and go for broke. Until then I just want to "not crash" haha.

I believe 130s (actual) is pretty attainable on an FZ6, for the average casual track day rider, on an average track. I beleive the tightest corners don't get much below 40 MPH (actual).

The challenge is whatever you want it to be on that particular day.

.....and you're going to go out for a "spirited ride" anyway....might as well make it somewhere with corners DESIGNED to be technical and fun with ample run-off, no traffic/objects-to-hit, etc.
