Need wiring help asap!!!

I was wondering if anybody knew what a diode is and what happens to tha bike when it blows...?? any advice welcome. thank yu!!!!

What diode? Where? BD43 answered it's function. It's is also used to turn both positive and negative signals into useable current in one direction as in a full wave bridge rectifier.

Generally when some one tells you you have a bad diode on a bike they are probably talking about the regulator/rectifier for your charging system. Your coil will not work with out the proper voltages and current but there are many things that can stop a coil from working.

to motogiro...tha diode was for tha side stand safety devise. its for tha kickstand. but my bike also has no spark. but i juss recently found out that i dont have an ecu. my bike has 4 carbs. (i knew that.) juss throwin that in there so yu can get a picture. its an 86. but its all custom. i was trying to do something with my headlights and that diode blew. there was spark before that happened...thats why im so confused. this is my first streetbike and i really dont kno much about this kind of stuff. its kinda new to me. but i want to learn. so anyyy advise yu can give me is helpful.

no. im sorry i dont have any manuals at all. i bought this bike from a private owner and i got no handbooks or manuals of any kind with it. just tha title.

Look at #33 in the pictorial. This is what you're talking about.
Wish I knew the diode configuration so we could test and fix it. It looks like a plug in assembly that may use the diodes as a logic circuit...

Edit: By the way I always thought that bike was such a cool ride! Nice that you have that! DON'T LET IT GO!
