Bike got roadrash what now?

I really not trying to knock the people who are all for full gear and I understand the consequences for not wearing it or at least some major parts. I said before 50-50 shoe/boot to flip-flops even leaning more to the first two now. Its been established boots=good flip-flops=bad but now thats established info on bike would be good but I suspect any benifical comments will be lost in the debate if you choose to call it that.

MX tracks required us to wear full gear I know the benefit its just my preference for riding everyday. A preference thats all...

lonestar- again I have boots just my choice to wear or not

You can get some automotive sand paper at pepboys or autozone. Tape the area off and feather sand it working your way out. Then a little paint and voila! And get a new flasher obviously. It shouldn't be too difficult to find the exact match for the touch up paint.

I would have left the whole flip flops thing out if I were writing this post. I'm sure the pain is teaching you far more about the benefits of good gear than 20 I told you so's. At the end of the day if you decide to wear something for protection, THAT IS YOUR CHOICE!

God bless America for the freedom it allows us to make up our own minds about what to wear when we do whatever we damn please.

OK this was LMAO funny.

Hey ever thought about trying something new? I haven't seen anybody try to put the new FZ8 front on the FZ6 or try and put the front from a FZ6R on the bike. I don't know about price but cold be cool alternate options.

The blinker itself isnt broken its the small plastic screw mount on the inside of the front plastics. Ive bent out the metal mount to its origional place or close enough and tie wrapped it back together. Im just not sure how to remount the origional blinker premenatly or mount new ones without those clips.

I forsure agree with you on leaving the flip-flop part out of it, but didnt think it would stir up that much. Also I thought the stupid decision quote on the origonal post would aleivate some fuss.

lol thanks

and yeah the mention of flip flops is sure to derail a thread on most internet riding forums

as for the kit:

get the FZ8 naked setup. It looks the best.

To quote russel peters:

Tooooooooo good.

I think its a good thread.

Lessons learned:

1) Make sure you wear the gear.
2) Don't mention flip flops.

LOL, you guys. I totally saw all the "OMFG, ATGATT" posts coming when I saw the OP. There's no mitigating people's propensity to man their soapbox. I almost started telling you about some casual-looking riding shoes, myself, but you're a grown-assed man.

Leave the bike all mangled, it makes you look more like a badass in the flops. You'll need this, though:

is your fairing really toast?
i think sanding plus filler plus paint may work. it would look good from a few feet away. no need to do the conversion.
how about the turn signal? are those parts replaceable? post a pic of that.
im sure you can pop it in. sometimes it takes some force. take a look at the microfiche online for a diagram.
honestly, just fix your blinker and get over it.

Last comment.. whats up with the engineering dress attire comment? what possible relivance does that have on fixing my bike? It's 2011 things acutlly do change. Just for info im referring to a open programming acess lab with me and possibly one ta writing code who needs slacks?:Flip:

Relax, I could've made some sort of AGGIE joke about you riding around in flip flops and shorts but the irony would have been lost on those not familiar with the beating up on Aggies who do dumb things. It's just too easy. Anyway, enjoy your shorts and flip flops, once you graduate and get out in the real world you won't be wearing shorts and flip flops to the office. :Flip: back at 'ya.

sorry to hear. but it really isn't that bad. like the others said get some proper BOOTS!!! so u didnt get hurt at all? no scratches or anything?
