I have nothing against smokers or anything but this was kind of sad. So my fiance and I are walking around in one of the Malls around St Louis and suddenly a person at a center store stand starts acting all cool with his electronic cigarette leaning on the chair with one leg crossed and Jessica (fiance) looks at me and says "Squirrel Please" quietly and he offers us "Would you like to try one of these out?" I was a little shocked he didn't even ask if I smoked first, but I just said I don't smoke. Then he says "There not real cigarettes they are electronic and don't harm the body as bad" I looked at him and said "If I don't smoke now, why would I start now?"

I just thought this was kind of strange, I mean is he trying to get people to start smoking that are not? It was just silly thats all. Food for thought.

Where I live, people working at those mall stands are typically college kids, exchange students or legal/non-legal immigrants, working for a small cut of the sales and they really couldn't care less about anything other than selling as much of these ****ty products as possible. I wouldn't over think it. But I get where you are coming from, I feel kind of awkward when someone asks me for light or for a cigarette even, since I never smoked in my life, and it is silly but I find it kind of offensive for someone to assume that.

I think it was more of a auto-asking by the seller. They currently have no laws in place for a fake cigarette. That said, means that a 13 year old can buy one at use it at school to 'impress' others.

It the whole concept of "I got one and you don't, that makes me better."

he probably asks everyone that comes by 12 years old and up, as long as it doesn't look like a parent is there that will kick their ass for offering it to a kid. :spank:

One day at UTC mall here in La Jolla, Ca. a lady was handing out sample strips of these really nice smelling and brightly colored soaps. The little, bright colored, rectangular strip was wrapped with a nice neat paper on the end that she held and handed to me. My wife could tell right away I was going to spoof on her. Must be that look I get in my eyes. I made like I took a bite and then made the ugliest face I could make at her and started yelling,"This candy is horrible!!!" She starts signaling me, waving her hands and yelling, No no no no no!!!!!! " It is soap sample!!!!, spit out! spit out" She was like from Ukraine some where... I told her I was only kidding and we had a good laugh....:D

Just go back and taser the electric cigarette guy!! Tell him, this is my electric cigarette lighter!! Pzzzzzt!!!! Pzzzzzt!!!!! :rof:

I have friends that smoke and I used to smoke. I don't have any judgement. I've never had my friends offer me a smoke. Well sometimes when I'm with my brother and his buds they break out these killer cigars and offer. Love a good cigar but I quit all together...

Hahah priceless.. I always think of stuff like this after the opportunity has passed..

We sell those electronic cigarettes in the cigarette store I work at, they are selling like crazy. They are just nicotine and water vapor so they are better for you but I still wont start smoking just because I can suck it out of a glowing stick now.

The last time one of those mall people tried to sell me something I told them get a real job your like a telemarketer I cant hang up on. The time before that I ended up having some lady that did speak english make me involuntarily try some hand cleaner stuff. She babbled at me grabbed my had a squeezed this stuff that look like hand sanitizer and gravel into it and motioned for me to rub my hands together. I think it worked my hands were softer and the water after I rinsed off was black but really the last thing I want at the mall is for some lady to cover my hands in a mystery substance. I don't like mall sales people.

Perfume department - they used to just come up to you and spray perfume on you - p155ed me off, for 2 reasons.

1 I was wearing expensive perfume - told them they had just sprayed some cheapo 5h1t over Chanel No. 5! ANGRY
2 Asthmatic - I could have been a CHRONIC asthmatic who would get attacks with perfume etc.

Think they've stopped doing it now for fear of being sued!

They actually contain nicotine and are only for sale to persons 18 and older. They have non-nicotine ones that also are only for sale for 18 and up.

The problem with these is that they are not regulated by the FDA so you have no clue what chemicals are in them for sure and since they have not been evaluated by the FDA no one really knows if they are "safer" as they have not been studied.
