Title says it all; obviously this poll will be biased as we all have bikes so I need to be more creative. You must answer for the Friends in your life, Not Yourself! Well unless you lost a girl and found another who accepts you and the Bike!

  • I know of a Friend who ditched the Bike (She Made Him!)
  • I know of a Friend who ditched the Girl!
  • I know of a Friend who lost both!
  • My friend can have a Dirt Bike

I need another category...both!
My ex-wife made me give up motorcycles after almost getting killed on one in 1976. Nine years later she told me she wanted a divorce so the very next day I went out and bought a new Interceptor.
My current wife of 22 years not only supports my riding but she's ridden since she was a teenager.
Win/win! :D

Dropped her on her arse when it came to the choice... And as a result, the bike has gotten me more of a variety of arse in the end anyways!

Last girl loved the bike and me, it was great!
When on a date that is one of my questions and will eliminate a second date if not answered properly.

This goes back 20 something years, maybe more.

One of my brothers rode, when it came time to marry his childhood sweetheart, her opinion on him riding changed so he sold the bike. After 10 or so years of marriage, he returned to riding bikes again, they ultimately got divorced (have NFI if it was because of the bike, but knowing her it would be on the 'list').

His current partner loves bikes (and her family has a place on Phillip Island :D)

I believe that women with such.. attributes... Should be on some kind of a national register. Wouldn't that make it a bit easier for those single, fz straddling blokes out there?

You said it brotha! I ditched the girl who tried to make me stop riding and found one who loves it. She is even considering taking the MSF course to get her own license and bike soon! Now that's a woman.

NEVER try to change the person you're with.

Learn to love your differences.

Doesn't matter if your partner doesn't like motorbikes (or any other hobby for that matter). As long as they don't try to stop you from enjoying them

The only thing that has ever stopped me riding is my own fear of death, after my dirst child was born....didnt last long, and no woman is worth giving up the things you love for!

If your partner cant take you for what, or who you are, then they are not truely your partner....

:D

If you have to give up a hobby or passion to be with someone than you are with the wrong someone!

My Fiance' loves my bike and always wants to ride 2-up when the weather is nice.

Slightly unfair on the women here mate. You should add a catagory.

[*] I know a friend who had kids and then the bike went.

Or something like that as I reckon it will be the highest vote.

I know at least three people who gave up the bike when the kids came along.

Nelly

See, I met my (now) husband because of his bike! We lived accross the street from each other, and I would see him out front of his appartment building washing his 1998 ZX-11!

I talked him into taking me for a ride, and after we started dating, I realized that if we ever broke up, I wouldn't get to ride!

So the next spring, I took a rider training course and got my own bike!!

My fiance is going to take MSF course this summer. I figured it would be a nice intro to see if she wants to ride on her own. Even if she doesn't, she is quite ok with riding with me. Needless to say, her family is NOT thrilled. I love her!

No offense intended to anyone. . . Sorry!
My first poll ever and well you see it hard to get a fair scoring from us. If I get the Mod to edit the poll; what do we need?

I know of a Friend who kept both!

Is that it? Please advise and I'll try and get it fixed! Thanks!
