The 2011 MotoGP season has only begun, but 2012 is already on the minds of many! Next year, the premiere class will be running 1000cc bikes. Ducati is the first to test with their riders, Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi.

I've read that the HP increase is in the range of 10-30 with the 1000cc bikes. (I'll find the reference for this...I can't at the moment.) Maybe this is the power increase the Yamaha guys are looking for?

Valentino Rossi Will Test the Ducati Desmosedici GP12 Tomorrow – Nicky Hayden Will Test on Saturday

Is quite interesting that ducati are the first to go testing for next year....have they given up for 2011 already????

I think your hate for Rossi and Ducati clouds your logic :)

Jerez will be our first glimpse at the next generation of MotoGP race machines, but both Yamaha and Honda are expected to begin testing their machines soon as well.

If the other manufacturers delay testing it would solely be because of the ongoing crisis in Japan.

Lol! I own a Ducati....and i never mentioned the date puncher! I just find it interesting that the team with the smallest budget, goes testing for next year first....the reality, since Stoner left, they dont have anyone that can win on the donkey bike! Simple logic not clouded by any hatred, just reason.

I dont think anyone else is delaying testing, they are just concentrating on winning a winnable championship that is only 2 rounds old....

I'm not sure if it's in April or the beginning of May but Ducati will test a whole lot of new parts and configurations for the GP11 bike.
