Often I read where our southern friends have not seen snow or real chilly weather so I thought I post up some pictures from a quick trip to Minnesota last week.
While I was there temps were between -33c (-27f) below at night and up to -17 (2 above) on the warmest day but most of the time it was well below zero.
I grew up with weather even colder than this but still this was chilly.
Just a bit of wind to send the snow blowing across the road, but a true Green Bay fan would ride in this weather eh Humperdinkel?
When it's real cold with blowing snow and the sun is low you can see Sun Dogs. This is not a reflection in the camera lens but what it really looks like.
Check out the icicles on this house.
Even the rental car exhaust has icicles in this cold weather.
Here's a guy pulling his Ice fishing house down the road most likely headed to a nearby lake to do some fishing. The fish house has holes in the floor and they use a auger to drill a hole in the ice to do some fishing. After all Minnesota is the "Land of a Thousand Lakes"
We drove out onto a frozen lake, you can see the fish houses behind me where people sit in to keep warm and drink lots of beer. I have water skied over this same spot in the summer.
