The Ashes 2010-11

Mitchell has to go :( As much as I love that eye candy, he didn't even turn up at the Gabba, did he?

Champagne cricket - come on Bollinger - do your stuff

Bring on Friday.

Bring on Adelaide Oval :D

Taking my 12 year old to his first test match this weekend....he has been to heaps of 20/20 games....i think he is gonna get bored real quick at the test match...might be a case of taking him for a small dose...like from Tea onwards...

By the way, there was a 4 day game between SA & Tasmania at Adelaide Oval over the weekend, and there where wickets falling all over the joint, SA won outright after getting rolled for 51 in the first dig...but then came back strongly with the bat in the second dig, and then going on to bowl Tasmania out for 171 in the second innings...

It might be a "result" pitch after all!

3 for 32 off 20 overs in Perth should see Bolly into the side & Mitchell goooooooone :cheer: :cheer:

Also notice that the 2nd innings in WA has Khawaja & Smith getting amongst the runs to go with Marsh's 86 in WA's 1st dig , so if I was Mr North i'd be starting to panic ;)

I reckon he'll love it  , I still remember my 1st test striding out into the Bradman Stand at the SCG with my Poppa on the 30th December 1985 , Aus v WI  Big Joel Garner firing rockets at Greg Richie , AB , Boonie & the Seth Efrican cry baby turned Aussie Wessels Scoring 100 & something :D.... What a trip that is to remember , I can still smell the grass & see the look of excitement on my Poppa's face that he could take his Grandson to the cricket

I had a Gray Nic Scoop & an original SS Jumbo  Then I moved on to GM & a Mark Waugh V800 Slazenger & now im back using a Gray Nic Powerbow :D

Who wants to head down the nets for a hit with me ???? :D

Bring on the WACA - December 16th - Mike's going all 5 days, I can't go on 17th - it's my breakup day at work and I've got to party :)

During the Ashes, even the Members get rowdy and into it (Yep, that's us )

The only other memorable bat I have owned, is a Newbury Excalibur...the bat with no shoulders, and a super flexible rubber handle!!! Weighed 4pound 2oz's! Was an absolute weapon of a bat!

My brother had a very heavy SS Jumbo!

My current bat is a Puma stealth 3000...which is ok.

My brother had a very heavy SS Jumbo!

The Jumbo weighed a around 22 tonnes from memory  :eyebrow: but WOW what power !!!!! 1st ball I ever hit to the REAL fence in junior grade was with that Jumbo in under 11's , a glorious cover drive off the back foot for 4   got out next ball stumped trying to pull a short 1 through mid wicket :BLAA:

I had a Garfield Sobers signed bat with all other identifying marks worn off it by the old man who I inherited it from, when I was in year 6.

This bat weighed nearly twice as much as any of the bats found in the bag, so you had to read the ball early, to get your feet into position, and your swing started, but the spring and weight were almost guarenteed to either smash the ball into the fence, or have it sailing off the oval:rockon:...lol. Of course the prefered shot was straight down the ground...lol. That way you are actually watching at the precise moment that the bowlers little heart breaks:Flip::BLAA:....LMFAO.

I eventually broke that bat at high school:(, but even to the last it served well. I broke it on a six, and the blade, having separated from the handle, made it 2/3 of the way to the fence also...lol. The old man was pretty sad about it too:(.

I've never seen one before or since, and it was the perfect weapon for sloggin'.:D

My Newbury Excalibur..the bat with no shoulders helped me hit the Fastest ton in Adelaide Turf Cricket records! 27 balls in total...9 sixes, 8 fours! This was nearly 20 years ago...but i think the record may still stand!

Best part about it was....i was half drunk at the time! And refused to run between wickets, unless absolutely necessary...in fact i got out on 101, the next ball after running a single! I was buggered!, and hungover!

If Huss stays in we will be alright , you better get your other WA mate of yours Kaz to help him out though :D This is North's last chance...

Yep, Northy better bloody fire....and right bloody now! Poms are bowling well! Hussey looks good, but i dont wanna put the "mockers" on him though...
