I absolutely adore them.
Mike got me on to Scorps - he had a beautiful set of stainless ones on his old SP1 - they were loud. Very loud.
All in all, great value for money. Personally don't like the 2-Bros carbon weave, but I love Scorpions weave

hey i noticed in your mods you quote a yamaha dark smoke screen. Is that an oem smoke screen ? I actually like the oem screen and am looking into buying a puig standard size screen in dark smoke as opposed to the racing puig, but i m not sure that it is the same as the oem screen . Any thoughts ?

Scorpions sound tinny to me, TB have the throaty sound I prefer. though my personal favorite are LV, which is why I bought them.

Is the CF version better for the heat issue? I'm riding w stock and the heat is killing me (stop & go city riding).

I have the newer style Scorps (in SS) and I really, really like them. Not too loud at slow speeds, when getting on it, it sounds like a 1000 sport bike. I wear a 3/4 helemt with stereo and I can still hear the stereo.
They really waked up the bike and are just about maintainance free. No DB killers either...
They do tend to make me ride more aggresive as they sound so good (wind it up-RPM wise).

The thing that worries me with the 2bros is the repacking issue. Also, the scorpions claim to be ready to go without the need for fuel remaping or repacking. However i know the 2bros seem to work fine without a pc3 or remap.
So how bad is the repacking issue? And are the carbon 2 bros really getting that yellow ?

Won't make much if any difference. The heat you feel in stop and go traffic is coming off of the headers and or mid pipe. I can touch my stainless steel scorps after a hard ride and they are slightly warm. The packing insulates the outside. Most heat entering the muffler/pipe goes out the open end.

I'm extremely happy with the new style scorpions. They look bad ass and get as loud as you want to crank'em. I have them in stainless steel and they clean up nice with plain ole warm soapy water. One of the nicest style of exhausts i've seen on any type of naked sport bike. Glad they're on my fz.

My scorps were installed without PCIII and ran really, really well.
I have now changed sprockets etc and have a PCIII. It runs even better :thumbup:

Man, everyone says their cans are cool after riding. I richened up my bike via the CO adjustment, and the cans are still hot after 20mins of riding! And this is in mild stop and go, and while taking it easy(mild acceleration, and shifting at no higher than 6K). If I beat on the bike at all, they're too hot to touch!

The stock muffler is large, is considerably heavier and will hold the heat.
Most aftermarket pipes are two seperate mufflers which is lighter, less steel/aluminum to heat up and allows more air flow in between them vs the stocker.
My girlfriend states the seat is definitly cooler with the Scorps than the stock muffler...

Did the scorps smooth out the power curve and loosen up the middle RPM of the bike w/o the PCIII?
One of the major complaints I have on my stock set up is the rough middle, 5k to 6k RPM with the power jump @ 6k. My bike with the scorps and PCIII is smooth all the way through and has significantly less vibration.
I'm torn on getting a PCIII for her or a set of Scorps. I'd actually love to keep the quiet stock exh if I could smooth out the middle with a PCIII.
