The Rant Thread

:D yeah we do play you , local derby & all that (insert Biff smilie here ) ...... I am worried bout this game because it local rivalry , its always tough.. And now that Coops is out *gulp* :(...

I think Trent will be fine , Luke O'donnell on the other hand...
I was amazed they didn't send Luke off - not as though it would have really mattered :(

just wen for a quick ride thoruhg the local twisties and this time its roads!!! they are garbage!
within 5minutes ride from home there are 2 lots of twisties that at 7ish km long and the council has screwed them!
One they have just resurfaced, oh yea thats a good thing keeping it up to scratch. It would be if they repaired it first! all the idiots at the council have done is put the thinest layer of bitimun known to man over the potholes, bumps, washout and dodgy endges:spank: so its just as bad as before if not worse plus its got loose gravel everywhere:shakehead:
The second road they have patched the potholes and gotten rid of a few biger bumps leaving gravel and loose stuff all over the road with no signs anywhere along the road to warn anyone about the conditions so i come around the first few corners just like a did the weekend before and there is loose stuff everywhere, not happy jan! im temped to go down the local council and give them a peice of my mind!
Then there is the general condition of roads in NSW they are crap!!!! are other states this bad? i no ACT isnt but thats because they have all the money:rolleyes: and sydney spends billions on a tunnel but they cant fix the roads alreay there in need of repair:spank:

I've been tempted to do a bit of a ride around my area as alot of corners are just covered in debri from holes in the road, or nearby construction work, its extremely dangerous.
The councils also all seem to enjoy the least safe method of sealing new roads which is just dropping light gravel all over them and letting people drive in it.
Not safe on a bike, not really even safe for a car. Its just annoying how ignorant the councils are.

Luckily Sydney and NSW is full of pathetically bad drivers who can't even do half the speed limit, so the danger of actually hurting yourself is very small when you are surrounded by stupid cagers incapable of speeding up fast enough to avoid getting every single red light.

The other problem we have is all the NEW roads are privately owned and the price of using them is so rediculous that they should never have been sold.
The fact the government didn't just cough up and buy the failure of a tunnel that was recently sold, and reduce the fee to something not only reasonable but also fair is beyond me. Instead they let the M2/M7 people buy it, and they are already the biggest ripoffs in the state.
And don't even get me started on how they REDUCED the amount of lanes ALL the major roads that would compete with the tunnel had to try and force people to use it.
There really should have been MANY MANY MANY government officials burried under that road.

There's a letter to the editor in this weeks AMCN regarding a West Aussie that died last month in Dwellingup - blue metal on road - a corner - and he hit it not knowing anything - no signs or warning. Just blue metal left in a pile.

Not good enough :shakehead:

Normally I'm not someone who thinks sueing is the answer to everything, but with something like that, since our justice system is a total joke, I hope the victims family sue both the council and all the workers involved.
I mean seriously what kind of council allows such a shoddy level of work to be done, and what kind of workers totally negate their duty of care by leaving such a dangerous hazard on the road particularly without signs.

Working in the service industry, if there is a few drops of water on the ground a wet floor sign is put down and we spend the rest of the shift until it is totally dry and safe actively telling people to be careful, watch their step, etc.

Its really sickening because there will no doubt be some council funded investigation which 'proves' it was totally the riders fault so they can get away scott free.
Its the same when anything goes wrong, OH look someones job is to take care of that, but instead of just putting the responsibility on the person who is paid to actually do the job, we will investigate the case, and then we will blame someone whoes responsibility it wasn't at the time and make them the ones who have to fix it in future, and THEN when they actually do it, we will criticise how and what they did.

On a seperate note, I was about an inch away from having some cager douchebag run straight into me today. I normally drive the car down to work on a saturday morning to save myself the 10minute walk because I am always running late, especially when I was working till 1am at my other job the night before, but anyway, after finally finishing I went back got in my car, was very careful pulling out of the parking onto the main road, and 200m down the road there was a T intersection with a smaller road connecting to the main. I was on the main road, I put my blinker on indicating I am going to be turning right, and watch as some idiot rolls down towards the give way sign, and then despite me already being mid turn (in a bright red car with blinkers flashing), he continues straight through the give way sign and stops literally inches from my car.
He obviously was blind, and totally mentally ill if he honestly didn't see me till he almost hit me.... I think the lucky thing was that there was a learner on a motorcycle right behind me, and if I hadn't been there its quite possible he would have taken them out instead.
It just totally irritates me however that in a situation where he had absolutely no right of way, plenty of vision, and heaps of time and space, he still managed to do every possible thing wrong.
I can kind of see now how some accidents happen when people who are obviously morons do something so totally illogical and stupid that even watching you could not possibly have entertained the thought they would take the action they did.

Lol! You really were born to rant! Love the desrciptive nature of this post! But your right, every day i encounter seemingly blind, and totally ignorant drivers on the road...is particularly bad where i have moved to recently...a very wealthy area, with lots of verey rich people who literally think they own the road, and drive like they have right of way, no matter what!

They are even like it when they are walking..just step off the footpath, and expect you to stop for them....i even got out of my car and gave a pedestrian a serve the other night....she was walking across a very dark corner at night, and i was coming around the corner...into my street at 10km/h...in the missus's mighty 1993 Ford Lasder, with a dent in every panel!...anyway, she accused me of flying around the corner! lol! more like she did not look to see if a car was coming around the corner...and got the shock of her life, when the nighty laser appeared out of the night!

Anyway, i told her that my 11 year old son had better road sense than her...

:D

Hahaha nice, yea its amazing, people don't even look anymore!
I mean sure on a pedestrian crossing you have right of way, but you still look, but suddenly with all the garbage about the roads the government is spouting people seem to think that the pedestrian has right of way all the time, which while legally they do, logically they don't since several tons of metal is definately more deadly than 50-100kg of person.

I've noticed in my grandmothers area alot of the middle aged people tend to just step out and not look at all. Then they get extremely angry when I get on the horn to make sure they are aware of the hazard of stepping out in front of a moving vehicle. It is also a wealthy area, and the amount of driving sense for its entire population would probably fill a thimble.

What annoys me the most is parents dragging children across roads just meters from a pedestrian crossing.
Honestly people should get arrested for that kind of behaviour, not only are they being irresponsible, stupid and ignorant, they are teaching their child to be the same, and when they get run over it will be some poor fools fault, and he/she will probably have to live with proving darwin correct yet again for the rest of his life.

Funny you should mention that. Have a look in a shopping centre/mall, next time you are there. People walk like they drive to a large extent. Some people see something off to the right, so they just turn and meander over there, without turning to see if anyone's coming. Some people walk really slowly and weave side to side...lol. I walk like I drive. Speeding, and checking my blind spots, and basically dodging dawdling wanderers.

Rant time...WOOT! (It's been a while.)

I went for a short squirt today, in between showers, and found some awesome examples of tar snakes. Of course I was going too fast, and riding in a totally inappropriate, and irresponsible manner but I've got a rear fender for crying out loud, so I should have been safe:confused:....lol...Ok. Back to the tar snakes.

This section of road was "infested" with slimy, greasy tar snakes, and at a decent and what should have been safe speed I discovered them on the wet, cold road, but fortunately with warm tires. I straightened up mid turn to avoid a nasty slide, and as a result the rear only slid out about 12 inches as a result. The front only slid about 3 or 4 inches. Now in a state where a useless hunk of plastic hanging off my bike is considered essential for everyone's safety, surely such a heavily tar snaked area would be immediately flagged for instant repair, as our Gov't tells us they are all fired up on safety.......guess there's no money in it for them. If I told them I'd lost a gold ring down one of the cracks I bet they'd dig it up:Flip:. I'm thinking of heading down to the council chambers and throwing some industrial cleaning concentrate and oil on the ground outside the front door. That way, on Monday morning when I go down there to complain they might be more willing to listen...lol.

MAN! I love a good rant...lol.:BLAA: (BTW..I was only joking about the oil on the ground and stuff...lol....everyone knows banana peels are best):D

I never have trouble in malls Mike,I always have my helmet with me ,it has the same deterent value as a bullbar does on the road,no one bumps into me ,lol

LOL...I ride like I walk...I give them very little chance to bump into me, cut me off or generally mess me around. By the time they have made a decision I'm 20 metres past them and going hard. Besides. I'm 91 kilos of nugget, so I don't really care if someone walks into me...lol.:Flip::rockon:

Haha it is amazing at the shopping centres these days, people certainly do walk like they drive.
Which is to say people seem to walk and drive like they have their heads stuck up the @$$'s. Its quite irritating.

I even got told off by an old lady today while taking my Nan for her weekly shopping. The old bag had taken up two whole isles at the registers at harris farm, and we waited patiently for her to finally move a bit so we could be served (on the side she was blocking, but not actually on), and then as I went to go by she put her foot out and blocked my trolley, with end result being her foot getting run over. Then tried to start a rave about "Just asking me to move". I just looked at her, decided it wasn't worth my trouble argueing, especially since I had apologised as soon as I made contact, and we went on our merry way.
I didn't think giving her a lecture on the benefits of spatial awareness or not being a selfish old bag would really have had any effect if she hadn't learnt it by her age.

I'm generally the kind of guy who tries to give way to the elderly, but when the people try and walk through me they generally find I'm alot more solid than I look.

But what about those damn idiots in the supermarket who take the trolley down all the aisles the wrong way!!! Now thats damn annoying too...

/raves on and on and on

How about the old family affair shopping aisle manouvre. All the way across the aisle, strung out like confused elephants:confused:.

My ex used to get a little bothered with my response...lol....Middle of the aisle. Head down...elbows up....making vroom vroom noises while revving my throttle.....then bolting down the aisle straight at 'em.

They moved every time...lol....chickens...bok bok bok:rockon:.

Some people won't learn or bother to think, so why bother to explain it to them...lol. Just have fun with them and mess with their heads:thumbup:.:BLAA:

Yeah, tonight in the shopping centre carpark, i had some arrogant woman cut me off, change lanes without indicating, and stop suddenly in front of me within the space of 30 seconds....i politely told her, in a very unaffected tone....that she was "a rude, arrogant bitch, who did not own the road, and that when she causes someone to have an accident with her inconsiderate driving, and she kills their kid, she may learn"....then quietly got back in my car, and drove off...

The arrogance by Car drivers in my "new area" is astounding! I thought Blackwood was bad...but Unley/Hyde Park people take it to a whole new level of incompetence!!!!

As for the shopping centre thing....i normally have a pusher in front of me...works pretty good! :D

LOL...always wanted to put my foot in one and go "up it's back for a speccy" calling out "ABLETT!" at the top of my voice, but unfortunately people keep putting their kids in them...LMAO:D

We must have a kick of the Footy one day! Bit of a fan of the "Specky" myself! We just need Matty (Siverback) to come along....he is good for the odd step ladder!

:D

What a crap day.....woke up to a torrent of abuse from my youngest boys mum, who was accusing me of owing more child support than i actually do...this from someone who i pay twice the monthly CSA approved amount for a full time mum too! and she only has his for 50% of the time...so in theory, i am paying her 4 times as much as CSA says she should get! Turns out she is off her meds for her condition...bi-polar! and has lost the plot...

Then, my poor girlfriend, who has been very sick with the flu, and tonsilitis all week...starts to bleed from the ears at lunchtime....straight to the hospital, with screaming 2 year old on my arm! fortuneatly Jess is ok....perforated eardrum....home again, and in bed recuporating...

Then the tossers at the stealership offer me $5300 for my bike as a trade in...this after they said they would look after me, considering i have spent over $30000 with them in the last 2 years...i would hate to know what the pri**s would do if i wasnt a "Valued customer"....

by the way i told them to shove their bikes up the place from where they talk from!

Last straw from a bunch of idiots who have lied to me about oil put in my bike, broken bits off my bike, then taken no responsibility for their stuff up...oh, the list of stupidity, deceit, lies, and blatant incompetence could go on for a week!

Then my eldest son acts like a spoilt brat at dinner time....so is now foxtel, tv, trampoline, bike, PS3 less for the next 24 hours!

I need a beer! or 12!

Sorry to bother you all with my personal crap...i normally just kick the dog...but i have already done that this week....I will go quietly now i think!

:(

1st of all im glad Jess is OK  All the other stuff can be fixed with medication of the Bundy/JD type :D... 1 glass , a few ice cubes & a decent dash or 10 should fix it :BLAA:
