I got my 07 FZ6 with Akrapovic , K&N ,Arrow mid pipe , Mod. air box, power commander dyno tuned at AF1 racing. It does seem to run a little better but not much, it really hauled ass before the power commander and the dyno tuning was done . Was it worth the $300 for the power commander and the $400 for the dyno tuning =$700 ? I'm not sure time will tell I guess. I'm going to call AF1 racing tomorrow to ask how much if any H.P. did it gain. $700 will buy a lot of Booze......

Without the mid-pipe, and air box mod it will make this much power. Pre is Akra sans DB Killers, PCIII, Dynojet map. Post same but AF1 tuned. Did you ask Micah for your plots? $350 to $400 for dyno time, fuel, etc. is about right for a quality tune. Or, you could do Johnie Cheez for $200 and then pay AF1 $400 to tune it correctly.

The guy who tuned the bike was off today,I will talk to him tomorrow and get more info . I just pick the bike up and went to the beautiful park for a walk with my wife and dog. New Braunfels is a really beautiful place!!!!!!

That would be Micah, he's off on Sun and Mon. He's a great guy. If you're not pleased talk to him, he wants you to be happy with your bike.

New Braunfels is a great place. I'd love to rehab one of those old down town houses.

Picking up 4-5 HP all the way across the RPM range is impressive as heck.... Do you have the OEM system plotted, by chance? How much did your MPG suffer before Micah to after?

He told me before he done the dyno work that I would not see a big improvement on the FZ6 . But he said my XB12XT Buell would be a huge improvement. So when I get ready for a new rear tire on the buell I'll have him dyno tune it. Now I'm going to ride the FZ some more and see what I think, I really haven't rode it that much since the tuning was done to honestly say. I need to take it to the track for some real testing.....I'll be back in New Braunfel soon to go tubing on the guadalupe and comal river. I love that place!

Mileage got marginally better. The map is actully leaned way out from stock. No, no bone stock plot. I put my Akras on about about day 10 of ownership of the FZ! I couldn't stand the OEM exhaust.

What you need to look at is the mid range, it's a huge improvement. At 8,000 rpm, and 40% throttle it made more power than the same rpm at wfo. The poor bike was drowning in fuel.

Just looking at the plot...... it's amazing how much difference the dyno/sniffer makes. By about 10K you're already making more HP after the tune, than you did peak previous..... and holds a substantial gain all the way to redline; 6-8 HP.

The 'slump' around 6K is very nearly flat, as well. Much nicer nearly linear ramp -- really even delivery. (That's where I'd like to see this plotted against the OEM ECU/Exhaust/intake/cat....)

The very bottom pair of lines on the plot are showing the CO output?

I rode the FZ6 out to the country and let it loose on some good roads with long flat straights. I'm happy with the results it has much more mid range now. Then I rode to Harris Hill Road Race track in San Marcos a friend let me do 10 laps in his race car,That was so much Fun !

I have an 07 FZ6 myself, K&N filter with scorpion c/f cans. Im at wyotech and i put my bike on our Dynojet and it made 78hp. I took the airbox lid off and made 81hp. Although my torque and hp curves looked like stairs, Im quite surprised even with the PC3 and midpipe yours didnt make more. Your curves are ALOT smoother and more linear thanks to the PC3. Ive stared at dyno charts for 3 weeks straight and I cant even really tell what those charts say, but Im just a student no expert my any means.

Yeah, 74 H.P. seems low but the dyno guy said I should add 15% so that would make it over 85 . All I can say is the bike is very fast and should only get faster with more miles I'm at 1750 now .

DUDE!!!! 1750 thats hardly broke in yet. Yea you'll see a small change when it gets some more miles on it. I did. It was like another gear when mine broke in finally. Seems kinda strange that the dyno would be off so much, even 15%. yea Dynojet is one of the most accurate dynos on the market today, but to say add 15% to your hp number to equal dynojet numbers is farfetched in my opinion. But i could be wrong. Has your dyno guy had other bikes dynoed on a Dynojet and then done on his and been off by 15% and been consistent? If thats the case I could understand that.

I really don't known where he came up with the add 15% .....

Dynojet has something similar. Its the Eddy load controller. Its alot to explain but the quick version is you can test and control ALOT with that system. You can hold a bike a 10%-WOT and the dyno will slow the bike and hold it at a predetermined rpm while you change A/F ratio for that rpm. I only scratched the surface of what the dyno can do. Its truely amazing.
