I got my FZ6R one week ago and put 350 miles on it this week. It is a blast to ride! I have not ridden a motorcycle for about 30 years but decided to start again.

My wife will also be getting a bike as soon as she takes her class to get her license endorsement and makes her final selection.

Hello All,

My name is Adam, I'm 34 and I live in Western New York. My wife and I have been riding cruisers for the last 4 years. She has a V-Star 1100 Custom, I have a V-Star 1300 (Both great bikes) and now a beautiful black '09 FZ6 is added to the stable.

I originally set out looking at the Street Triple, Z1000 or the FZ1. I test rode them all (except the Triple, long story) and just about pulled the trigger on the FZ1 but just before I signed the paperwork I decided to take the FZ6 for a spin. Love a first ride, plenty of power, great ergos and handling...

I picked her up 2 weeks ago and I've only had a chance to put 100 miles on her but the mod bug has already bitten me (and it's to cold to ride today) so I tore in and did BD43's Dual Headlight mod. (Great mod)

Now to find the next mod, so many to chose

:welcome::welcome:

It must be a huge difference riding the V-star and the FZ6. I have been riding bike for years but only once (one year ago) had I ever been on a cruiser. It was very different than my sport bike.

Welcome and enjoy your stay. Let see witch bike get more attention now. Let us know.

Just bought a used 2006 FZ6 in red... already falling in love with it.

24 yr. old male from Austin, TX whose prior bike was a "Ninja" 250. The FZ6 makes the old one feel like a toy.

Hi all. I'm Jonathan from Portland, OR. Yesterday I joined the ranks of the FZ6 owners :) I bought a used 2006 FZ6 (the blue one), it had 3707 miles on it and was in perfect condition, I got it for $3995 (I did have to drive 2 1/2 hours to get it though, well worth the price). It's a beautiful bike, I put about 50 miles on it today. Previously I owned (well, still own until I can sell it) a 2005 EX500 which I learned to ride on.

These really look like great forums and I am glad to join the community!

Hi All,

Name is Nav and I'm a brand spankin' new rider living in the DC area. Turned 40 couple weeks ago and decided it was time to go for the excitement - researched bikes and found the FZ6 to be the best for me! Bought an '07 and really love the looks - took the MSF course this past weekend and did GREAT during practice but choked and failed the test :( - just crushed and embarrassed bcuz others who passed should not be on the road. Setup for a retest this coming Sunday and trying to get my confidence back. Anyways - glad to be part of this Forum - seems to have a ton of great information and good people.

Retested yesterday and PASSED with flying colors! :Flash: Whew!! Now I'm legit' and ready for ridin'!

Hello all…
Tim from Hurricane, West Virginia here.
Bought a black 2008 FZ6 around August of last year, long story short, I picked it up because I never handled peer pressure very well.
Had two buddies that up and sold their cruisers, (one a BMW and one a Harley) and bought Buells, which left me tagging along behind them on my Fatboy. So, one day I saw a FZ6 with a for sale sign, it had low miles and the price was pretty good, so I picked it up.
Worked out very well I must. When I feel like rocketing around with my Buell buddies, I can rocket around. When I feel like taking my time and cruising with the Harley’s, I can kick back and catch some bugs in the teeth. A two bike garage is nice.
I have been riding street bikes for around ten years, and these are the 3 and 4 bike I have owned.
Thanks and nice to meet you all.

Well, I've posted a couple times but I better introduce myself properly. Been lurking the forums for a couple of months gobbling up all the helpful information :)

I picked up my 06 FZ6, blue with scorpion pipes, juicebox (I know, I know), puig dark smoke windscreen, and hardly a scratch on her about a month ago now. I love the bike. I've put over a thousand miles on it at this point. It's bike number two for me after spending almost three years on a Ninja 250 (and loving every moment of it).

Thanks for providing a great forum!

Name is John, 34yo from Fayetteville NC area. Just bought a 2008 black FZ6 with 64 miles on it. The guy who sold it, bought it, drove it home, drove it to a friends house who had a garage, and left it there. (the home it rested in had a bike lover there so he started it daily to keep everything working) REALLY great deal. I go to an NC motorcycle safety course beginning of next month, after that I can finally drive the darn thing as I never had the endorsement on my license.....Can't wait.

Hi All,

Matt from Vermont, just bought an 2007 FZ6 2 weeks ago and have been browsing the forum since. Have found lots of good information so far. I'm in my 2nd year of riding and am coming off of a 2001 Ninja 500r. Great bike but this FZ6 is 1000000x better in all aspects, more comfortable, more power, more stable, you name it and its better.

Heya! I'm Dave, living in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I just got my first bike a few weeks ago-- a red '06 FZ6 with 14k miles.

Previous owner didn't seem to care too much about boring stuff like "changing fluids" or "adjusting chain tension", but it's in good shape overall and I was able to knock the price down by a good chunk. And it's been pre-dropped, so I don't need to feel all protective about it. :)

I'm still getting used to riding, but the MSF class I took a few months ago prepared me pretty well, and now I'm only slightly terrified every second that I'm on the road. But I love every minute of it!

Hi everybody! I'm John from Colorado.

Just picked up a new-to-me '08 FZ6. Fits perfectly in my stable between the Connie and the KLR650.

I started riding many (many, many) moons ago on dirt bikes. My first full time street bike was a Yami SecaII. I picked up the KLR after determining that the Seca didn't like to be ridden too aggressively when adventuring on dirt roads :D. More aggressive tires would have helped, but it was a good excuse to get another bike ;). The Seca was retired before her time. My fault totally, single vehicle accident. Short story: Beautiful mountain views, camera, overconfident rider looking for unique action shots...... I was fine (ATGATT), but the bike and camera, not soo much :(. As a replacement, I was looking for something better on the highway as the KLR is a decent adventurer so picked up the Concours.

I was looking to replace the KLR as it's a bit long in the tooth and have been lusting after the Ducati Hypermoto for a while. I really like the Duc, but new is just way too much $$$ and I haven't had luck finding anything used in my price range either. Was about to go with a new Versys, but the shop I was at had a used FZ6 sitting there, so I thought I'd take a test ride in remembrance of the Seca. It reminded me of all the things I like about the Seca, and it's a lot more sporty/fun/updated as well, so I brought it home instead of the versys . Maybe a bit of a snap decision given it's not a great KLR replacement, but then again, I think motorcycling is about emotion not reason. Besides, it was cheap enough I can keep the KLR as well so I'll still have an escuse to pickup a Ducati Hyper if I can run across a good enough deal :BLAA:.
