official? be nice to have a 2010 FZ6 as they are becoming obsolete.
In my opinion, the FZ8 is a bad move and in a few years, the 6 will be back.

great time to buy an FZ if you buy a FZ6n or S or a FZ1N or S at the moment you get good finance rates and a year of full comprehensive (spelling) insurance with swann for free!!!

that sounded a little like an add, it wasnt. i bought mine about a month or so before this came in, lets just say i had some words with the boss about it:spank: it is a big saving though when insurance is so damn expensive

In my opinion, the FZ8 is a bad move and in a few years, the 6 will be back.

I have to agree, Yamaha could of made the FZ8 so much better, more like FZ1...ball breaking grunt, & decent suspenders...

Instead they built a +200kg bike, that only has about 5 more hp than the FZ6 at the rear wheel...

I am dumbfounded! Makes our FZ6's look good i suppose.

I was a bit disappointed too. Really expected something a bit more.
This being said the FZ6 is an amazing bike, so its probably hard to make something match up to it, especially when its basically a smaller bore FZ1!

As long as I felt about FZ8, it looks great and might works better than FZ6.

However, as Yamaha built FZ6 quality so good, many FZ6 owners are not impressed much better on FZ8.
It's Yamaha's fault... ha ha ha

New riders might like FZ8, if they were not previous owner of FZ6..

It makes no sense to me that the FZ6 line is getting the axe. Not too many here in the states, but aren't the FZ6 and other FZ series bikes some of Yamaha's biggest sellers?

I was talking with a dealer at the bike show last weekend, they said the FZ6 isn't totally getting pulled but more taking a break. It sounds like they want to bring it back in 2011 or 2012 the latest.

In Aus the r1 is apparently the biggest selling bike not counting the CT110 from memory, that or its the biggest 1000cc, I think the street triple may have been the leader in the 600's, and the FZ6 didn't even get a mention (but then all the other choices where learner legal from memory)

The Fazer 600, as i think it used to be called, from 1998 - 2003 (1st generation), and the second generation FZ6, 2004 - 2010, has apparently sold 600000 units worldwide since 1998! According to AMCN.

I dont reckon we are going to be struggling for spares, anytime soon.
