Rode with a gixxer 600 today

He had an Arrow exhaust on his. It sounded strikingly similar to my Leo's. Pretty cold today, but lots of fun none the less! Rode for a couple of hours around town.....felt great to get out for a while. He was carrying his girl on the back. Not sure what mods he had done to the bike, but the bike sure did have great acceleration.

It's chilly and wet here today but I'll be out riding tomorrow. I almost bought a 750 GSXR. Nice bikes.

I almost bought a 750, too......when they came out with the new body style in that dark red color. They are not as comfortable to me as the FZ6, though.

Absolutely not, the FZ6 is so much more comfortable.

Exaaaactly! I did the same thing...I test rode two Gixxers and was ready to buy one....but then I rode the Fazer.
While the Gixxer is a great bike it cannot touch the Fazer for comfort!

I've had an 1100 Slabby and a 750M Gixer,both great bikes. I'm not a fan of the racer riding position,but they both had great engines.

Funny you should mention that. They did have on the leather Suzuki jackets, but were wearing normal jeans and Vans type shoes. I asked them if there feet get cold.....lol. Even I could hardly feel my fingers after an hour.

what is it about GSXR's that make people disregard personal safety. No other bike is squidlier than a GSXR.

There's prolly is something to the fact that a certain type mentality goes for the GSXR and that's what we're seeing in the urban environment.
There are plenty of GSXR riders who ride responsibly with good gear and are greatly skilled. I ride with an org that has at least 50% GSXR bikes on a ride and they're good to go. They are among the best riders I know.

Some will wear gloves and all wear helmets (law here) but very rarely do we see a GSXR guy in the summer wearing gear. The same holds true for the other makes but not like the GSXR.

I see that all time....I've never counted but they do always seem to be a GSXR!

I've always associated the higher squid factor of gixxers to the fact that they're the cheapest option in their price brackets. Folks that pick the cheapest bike also tend to skimp on expensive safety gear, perhaps.

Went riding with my Gixxer friend last night. This guy is more of a track racer, but still impressive acceleration on that bike. Not looking to comfortable to me, though. Love my FZ.

Saw a guy just in a helmet, shorts and thongs on a gixxer the other day.
Was also riding like an idiot.
By the time he stopped sliding if anything went wrong he would be looking like about 1/3 of a cheese block that hasn't gone through the grater. With the other 2/3's smeered across the road behind him.

Well i sold my gixxer to buy an 08 fz6 and would never go back. Up here in Toronto Canada; you need 2 jobs just to pay for the ins on these ss bikes; so i can't say enough how happy i am with mine. At least with my fz; i can still go fast and do it comfortably!!!
