Didn't want to start a new thread, but I just clicked "Submit" on the payment that finishes buying my '07. So, uh, what happens now? They mail me a title to the address they have on file? I've never financed before, always bought outright.

They mailed me a lean release. I already had my title.

I moved to the US 6 or so years ago, 2 years ago I was sent from NYC down to Florida for work and had to buy a car.
First car I buy in the States so I didn't know better and the Sales agent took advantage of me plus my credit score was basically of an 8 year old.
Got 14% APR. 5 years Auto Butler service and all bells and whistles platinum services and accessories you can imagine.
I'm from Mexico City, living in Florida was not my kind of living and had to come back to NYC, The only dealer who take all my packages and warranties is 90 miles from my home and every time I make an appointment I have to explain what happened, call the @#$%^& in Florida and have them call the service dept here..........I can go on and on and on.
For my 33k car will end up paying something like 50k.
Kind of wish I did that with the bike instead of the car.

Congratulations anyway and be ready for next time.

Well, 22 months later, 21 payments, $12,647.51, it's paid for.

Before anyone goes crazy, I don't remember if I shared my experience about when I purchased the bike, and got unknowingly screwed into buying a 4 year platinum service plan among other things. I also bought some gear. That's why it was so much.

Anyways. Mixed feelings. It's been a really, really rough week, with everything that's been going on, so I don't really have much else to say right now. But, just thought I'd share one bittersweet part of it. Sweet because I'm done. You figure the rest out.

Don't get too down on yourself. As educated as I am, I've been hosed more times than I can count. Live and learn. You'll be wiser next time. And paying it off so quickly shows savvy on your part.

I paid way over the odds for my first moped (DT50MX) long ago (when I was 17) and when I sold it a year later (still owing lots on the loan) I just about drew even (despite a year of repayments) but looking back it was a lesson I never forgot, so in hindsight there was a brighter side to the story, and at least you've got a really nice bike to show for it :thumbup:

Yea its been over a year and ive I'vedone much better since my initial purchase of the fz in 2007. I have picked up enough good deals since then to make up for it. The last day of 2008 i Ipicked up an 07 grand prix, loaded with lowish miles for $8000...
