As many of you guys/gals know, I had shoulder surgery back in early December to repair some ligaments I tore in a motorcycle accident over a year ago. The surgery went really well and PT has been even better. I'm now 6 weeks out of surgery and just starting to become strong enough for "normal" activities. Since I'm now doing semi-pushups, I figured I'd at least sit on the bike and get a feel for the position. This all felt good, so I decided to take her for a ride around the neighborhood, nothing too strenuous. This also felt great and so I went to the local parking lot and did some "exercises" including emergency stops, swerves, etc. No pain here.

I've now ridden some 300 miles this weekend, mostly around town and highway riding, all without any real discomfort. I think I'll save the twisties for some time down the road, but it sure does feel good to be back out there.

Thanks for all the support guys. Everyone has been really great on here...

Rob

That's great news!! And smart, too, to start off easy and with safety drills.
Hope your shoulder continues to heal up.

I glad to hear you're feeling better Rob. Stay on that PT and you'll be back to new before you know it.

Congrats Bro... Let your PT know that you're takin it to the streets, there might be some exercises that they can give you for more proficient and safer riding...

Good for you. Glad the surgery went great. I have to have arthocsopic surgery on my shoulder in a couple of weeks. I tore my Rotator Cuff and Labrum. I'm glad yours is working out good. I hope I'm doing as good after mine. They say 6-9 months. OUCHl. I sure hope not.

Woo Hoo!! Great to hear that your back in the saddle, remember to take it easy at first and gear up. With a proper PT, you'll be set for the summer riding. Take care and keep the shiny side up.

Thanks for the support guys. My recovery shouldn't take until Summer, an AC repair doesn't take long to heal up. I should be near 100% by next month. A torn rotator cuff and labrum is an entirely different story, and takes a lot longer to heal up.

All I can say is, like a crack addict, I missed riding. I don't know how you guys in cold climates deal with the winter.

Rob,
Here's how you deal with the winter blues...:rof: :rof: :rof:

Holy crap Cliff... that is why I will NEVER own rental property. You never know what some idiot might do when you're not around.:ban:

There are a bunch of these videos on youtube and in one they put down a piece of wood to do it on because it was a nice finished hardwood floor and the wheel went sideways onto the nice floor and the guy just burned a hole in it!

Congrats Rob! Good time to get some mods done on the striple. And chuck that FZ6 out of your sig.

Man, I wish I had any plans to mod the STriple, but it's so damned good right out of the box that I honestly wouldn't change a thing on it! No need to upgrade suspension (ala R6 forks for FZ6) because the R comes with the Daytona suspension. The exhaust note is already beautiful with an amazing intake growl when you crack the throttle. Headlights are already dual headlights with tons of output. No need for projectors and HID kits.

Damn I love this bike... can't think of anything to change. All I really need is a good set of sliders. Problem is they are ~$150-200 for this bike. Pretty pricey if you ask me.
