Sure. Here're the ones I hear most: "I know you have a car, I saw you drive it", "dude, you're really hard core", "aren't you cold?", "you're freakin' crazy", etc.

Mine are: "it's 25F out and I wanted to get in a few more rides before it starts to get cold", "I know you Harley riders live to ride -- but only when it's 80F out and sunny", "I know, I need therapy", etc.

I was out today on what turned out to be a gorgeous 38F ride; it was a little warm and the ice/snow melts and the bikes get dirty so I headed back home and washed them. Sometimes it's best when it's well below freezing so you don't get any splash.

I know the bikes don't stick like in the hot weather so my rides are pretty tame with minimal leaning (more hanging off) and lots of caution. I also have to wash them more often to avoid salt sitting on them for too long. Plus, I like to use some fuel so I can keep fresh gas in them. Plus, if we get a black out at home, I can always siphon the gas from them for the generator!

Here in NH, November was great -- I think no snow; December has been good -- snow but still many days of dry roads (if it wasn't for the holiday rush or the single digits temps., I would've ridden more).
Not too shabby of Winter riding season so far .

Good to hear there's some allentown folk in here. I'm from Bethlehem myself, and I still ride throughout the winter when roads aren't icy. I saw another biker on the ride to work the other day and when we waved there was that moment where we connected because he was honestly the only other rider i've seen all december.

But yeah no need to winterize your bike if your going to use it once or twice a week. I don't have a batter tender so I just run her once a week to keep her battery from dying, and no need for fuel stabilizer when I fill her up once a month.

You guys are all nuts. Certifiable even.
Here in Sunny 'ol Florida, I hang up the helmet when the temp drops under 60F. My gloves and jeans just dont cut it at highway speeds when it gets any cooler.

Thankfully, we only see such temps for 2-3 weeks a year. About this time of year actually. *brrr*. Just thinking about riding in freezing temps gives me the chills.

My general rule is "when it takes more time to get geared up than it takes to actually get to work, it is too much trouble."

My commute is 1.7 miles, lol....but I have not choice, ride or walk. My wife takes the car and she commutes 6 miles, but has to drop off my daughter at school, 15 miles round trip.

The only part of me that gets cold is my fingers, I need heated grips lol.

I get the usual "you rode in this weather", " I bet you froze your a$$ off this morning" that was when temps were around 5 F, I only commute 1 mile so its not too bad, if it is snowy or icy I will find a ride with a coworker. Only been in Wa for about a year and a half transplant from warm and sunny FL, the cold down there is different than the cold here, I can handle colder temps here.

I love the tri city area, but it is so flat, I bet the wind makes it really cold. I've only been there in the summer though.

We get a lot of wind here in the tri cities area and it makes it rough, it is pretty flat and dry here, all the mountains and hills have no trees, been to Vancouver once and would love to get over to the west side with the bike, lots of nice rides over the I hear. Maybe next summer.
