Spare Juice for Heated Gloves/Jacket Liner?

Folks, I just bought some Gerbings G3 gloves and a jacket liner. Already installed a battery harness and used them on my cruiser. Simply awesome.

The gloves are 27 watts/2.2 amps and the liner is 77 watts/6.4 amps.

I have a stock 2009 FZ6. My Yammie dealer says I'm good without even a question--especially since I probably won't be running them at full heat (no kidding--one quarter heat about burned me up at highway speeds at 47 degrees!))

What say you--am I good running both of these together with no battery drain issues? Thanks.

I have a Ninja 250. I've done long distance riding with a jacket, Sirius Sat radio, GPS, and Blackberry charger, with NO problems. Your FZ6 should handle the load just fine.

It depends on a few things. Have you done the dual headlight mod? Any other power draining mods? I am pulling more juice than the FZ makes, and it truly sucks. Here's what I have installed.

Dual headlight mod
Pod lights
Priority Plus lighting systems(claims to take 50 watts alone)
Givi brake lights on tail case
Garmin GPS
Autocom B2B
Radar detector
Stebel horn (only drains when used)

If I ride in stop and go traffic the battery will be dean an a couple hours. I have to re-visit my wattage drain and come up with somethign that will not drain the battery.

Try it and let us know! I'd be very curious to hear. I'd imagine as long as you are mostly running above 5k rpms or so (as in on the highway), you will be fine. You might also want to install a small volt meter, too.

Did you see Apollo 13 with Tom Hanks?

Well getting those 3 amps for Apollo 13 is just like getting the extra power for the FZ6.

In my opinion the worst thing on this bike is the battery power. But then again my other bike is a Moto Guzzi and you can run a towns electricity supply off that bike.

There was a thread I posted in a while back with a guy asking the same question, where the actual figures and amounts where posted and could be used to work out where you sat.
From memory the guy was looking at handgrips and a heated vest on a stock bike and didn't have a problem (was fine and had spare unused)

I'm interested to know how well the radar detector works, how expensive it was, and how detectable it is from the other end Ant mb

You should be fine if you don't run a dual-headlight mod at the same time (otherwise you will likely have a slow drain).

I sure wish I had another 100watts to play with.
