finally saw a new 250 ninja in person

yesterday i road to work and parked on campus. i backed into a MC spot and looked next to me. it was one of the new 250 ninjas. i know they came out last year but i hadn't seen one in person. it's a very nice looking bike. makes me want one. i think they did a great job of keeping the bikes small but not making them look like a small bike. unlike when you see a small cruiser like a rebel.

funny thing is when i went into work i parked next to a red one. when i came out later that night the red one had left but a blue one took it's place. hadn't seen them since they've been out and yesterday i saw two in one day.

nothing profound. just sharing.

They look great dont they! My business partner's missus just bought one...took it for a ride...very very gentle little bike, very little power...reasonable suspension and brakes...great "newbie" , or commuter bike with lots of style.

They have sold like "hot cakes" in Australia...

They are a very nice bike. I think they'd be very fun on a tight track with the right mods; suspension, brakes and slicks.

I had one for about a year. One of the most fun things on two wheels. The throttle is always pinned.
They are super fun on tight roads with really tight turns as they are extremely nimble. Great beginner bike.

We recently got an '08 Ninja 250R for my wife. Yeah like you guys said it's a nice small, light bike, excellent to start out on. It's just that its... so Sllllllow.
Very fun to ride nevertheless. I feel much nimbler on the 250R than the Fizzer. Maybe it's psychological but it seems I am able to lean a lot further on the ninja. The fizzer feels more upright.
Hmm...



I wish they made the 500s in this new style.

Used to. She saw a low-side and the plastics were too much to replace so insurance totaled it. Sad since the bike was in perfect mechanical shape. I almost bought it back, but the Fazer caught my eye.

Glad you got the Foz, how's it treating you?

I had a 07 ninja250,fun but you say the 08 lacks performance.Mine in factory trim would run 99 mph in qtr. mile,0-60 in a little over 5 seconds.Drastic change in motor?

They are good looking bikes. A guy that lives in the apt. building next to my girlfriend's has one parked outside so I was able to take a close look at one. As someone mentioned above, I like the fact that they don't look as "nerdy" as some of the other 250cc bikes out there.

I arrived at my FZ6 after having a ninja250 2008. It is beautiful and sounds great, but after the thrill of being new and all, the bike is horrible. Prior to the Ninja, and as a comparison, I had a Honda CM400T from 1978, and it felt better, more torque and stable in highway. And that was the major drawback of the 250: the lack of stability in highway. When I got the FZ6, then I felt I was on a real motorcycle, with punch, stability and transportation ability. I regret I bought the Ninja in the first place because I lost a lot of money in the exercise. To me the ninja250 is a toy, and a dangerous one, not a bike. Too nimble, too unstable and poor quality.

I have an 06 STI and prior to that an 05 WRX. Once you own a Subaru you never go back. Great fun cars!
