Air Box Mods...?

I hear a lot about modding the air box.. is there a procedure or pattern that someone can share with me ? 1000 more kms and this puppy should be broken in....winter mods are a coming.

just cut the snorkel inside and outiside the box off.
there is an opening where the air gets sucked into the airbox, I left the bottom on both the inside and outside to help direct air and not get a swirling air pressure, and then opened up the hole another 2 or 3 square inches.

SLIGHT notice in down low power and huge gain in sound. not as "sewing machiney"

Read any/all of these 3 threads, hopefully they will convince you to abandon the idea of arbitrarily hacking up a functional part of the bike.
