Carbon Fiber or Aluminum Cans?

I want to go with an aftermarket exhaust, probably 2Bros - but I have a concern. My softbags sit against the stock exhaust heat shroud.

Can anyone speak to how hot the Aluminum VS Carbon FIber cans get compared to the stock heat shrouds?

Does anyone currently have any aftermarket exhaust that they run soft bags next to?

I just got the Two Bros. C.F. and after about a 60 mile ride I was able to put my hand on the side of the cans and while warm, it didnt burn my hand. I dont have soft bags, but I imagine it wouldnt burn the fabric. I think the aluminum ones might get hot enough to burn. The carbon fiber is more expensive, but it looks better, lasts longer and is just manly-er. (good word, huh?)

i ran soft bags with leo vince carbon with no problems. I guess its how you mount them though

I have the 2bros aluminum and run soft bags that touch them. After riding 12 hours straight there were no problems. After a period of time they will heat the bags up so I wouldn't store anything really delicate in there for a long trip but my laptop didnt have any problems on the long ride and my yogurt is cold everyday when I get to work.

The pipes do get hot though, the right more than the left, and will burn you.

I have the 2Bro carbon, and the right side get's pretty hot, but not hot enough to burn you. The end caps on the other hand, those get HOT!!! Your bags shouldn't touch them though...

My want list for Mods keeps getting longer and longer, which means the aluminum are looking better because of cost. But if there is a signifigant heat difference between the 2 I think I will hold out for CF.

Some people have said CF doesnt hold up as well to the elements. My bike is stored outside 100% of the time and I ride in all conditions so I went AL

The stock exhaust cover is much cooler when compared to the 2 Bros. and as mentioned, one side(Right Side, 2 Bros.) gets hotter. I would imagine any of the alloy cans will get hotter because they will transfer heat more quickly than the CF material.

As far as which look better and are more "Manly?" Here's a picture of me without my Gort gear and my aluminum exhaust...

IMHO, exhaust looks much Manly than your pic. Longer nose hair would have sealed the deal for me.
